Rated 3 out of 5:
My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice, both of these were before heading out from Stansted on early morning flights. I think that the room sizes are great & the facilities are basic but clean. The main issue I have with the Travelodge and this is regarding the whole chain of them, the beds are so uncomfortable, you end up rolling into the middle of them, That aside you get what you pay for. So there may be a lot of negative reviews on here, but come on people this is a Travelodge not the Ritz. For a nights stay I can put up with the bed for the location. It is only about a 5-10 min taxi ride to Stansted (roughly £10).

A Travelodge Stansted Great Dunmow guest gave the hotel 3 out of 5 and said:
We stayed here one night before flying out of Stansted airport; this was the cheapest option and only a 10-15 minute drive from the airport. As we have stayed in a number Travelodge's we knew what to expect and this was one of their nicer hotels. The hotel looked brand new and check-in was very quick and efficient. Like all Travelodge's the rooms are basic but modern and very clean. As we arrived late we ordered food and wine for the room which we thought was quite good value - two glasses of wine, pizza, wedges and garlic bread for £17. The parking charge is a bit irritating but its only £3 and when we looked at staying at the Stansted Hilton parking was £15 a night so in comparison a bargain. Basically, if you want a cheap, no frills, clean room for a short stay then this Travelodge fits the bill.

A guest rated the accommodation 4 out of 5:
I found this hotel to be an ideal overnight stop for my flight out of Stansted the following morning. Located about a 5-10 min drive from the airport, the building looks to be relatively new is well lit and decorated to a high standard. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and check-in was prompt and efficient. My room was facing out towards the main road but I didn't notice any noise, although I was checking out early on a Sunday morning. The room was clean and bright, but basic - no toiletries, basic tea/coffee facilities etc. but I paid only £29! Bargain! There is a cafe/restaurant on site, but I took a drive into the town of Great Dunmow for a bite to eat plus there is also a BP station and McDonalds just up the road at Stansted Services. The one thing I would say that is the mattress was well past it and a little on the soft side. There was a £3 charge for parking using a pay and display type meter. If you are looking for a quick overnight stop then I see no problem with using this Travelodge.
