| Rated 4 out of 5: The hotel is fine, but it is on a corner of 2 busy streets where buses pass regularly and the windows are not particular insulated against noise. There are quite a few fast food places next to the hotel and night life is busy, with loads of noise, loud music from cars and revving engines. Having said that, surprisingly I slept fine. Parking is a problem, with the car park next to the hotel not 24 hours and very expensive when you stay longer. We parked for an hour to unpack (!) and for overnight we parked at the Sutton Car park (WD17 2QG ), a 5 minute walk through the town centre, for £5 for 24 hours. If you want to go online and not want to pay the high charges in the hotel, nearby are a lot of free Wifi opportunities in pubs and Macdonalds. We went for a budget, but decent dinner to a Carvery restaurant, apx 5 miles towards the M1 by car ( A Travelodge Watford guest rated the experience as 3 out of 5: We stayed here when we went to the Wembley Oasis gig and after having read some of the reviews weren't expecting too much! We found all the staff to be polite and helpful, the Polish girl on the reception desk avery helpful when we arrived early to check in. Some of the security staff are people of very few words but I suppose dealing with beered up guests at all hours must get tiresome after a while. The rooms are basic but they had everything you need. Our only complaint was not of the hotels making but of other guests, firstly we had to evacuate the buidling at 3.20 in the morning due to some clown setting the fire alarm off and secondly two immature 'girls' who were old enough to know better having running races around the landings at 4.15 the dizzy pair of airheads obviously didn't realise that some people actually like to get a bit of sleep now and again. All in all the hotel met our needs so what more can you ask for the price paid. A guest rated the hotel at 3 out of 5: Stayed here as was nearby for a family get together. Wasn't a great hotel, corridors and stairway was dirty. Rooms were clean and very basic. But all we needed from a room was somewhere to leave our stuff, have a hot shower and a good nights sleep, this was all catered for.( though it did help sleeping by having been out drinking.) Don't pay £7.50 for breakfast, walk round the corner to the high street, to Wetherspoons -Moon Under Water pub and have breakfast there for £2.50. The real downside is the lack of parking and no concessions with NCP and the hotel. Good advice from the other review. |
