Rated 4.5 out of 5:
We spent just one night at the Waldorf Hilton. The room was adequate though nothing special, but I would say par for the course in suck a central area. Service was good, we received a phone call shortly after reaching our room to check whether everything was ok. The bed was comfortable and we did not suffer any noise during the night so slept well. Breakfast was excellent. Although buffet style, the food was hot, as were the plates and the service was attentive. Not great value for money but not overpriced in comparison with much of the competition

Rated 5 out of 5:
We stayed here for one night whilst visiting friends in London. From the moment we walked up to the check in desk and were greeted by the lovely Patricia, who's smile brightened up a miserable London day, we felt instantly at ease. We had been given a free upgrade, which is always nice, and were very impressed with our room.
The only concern is that the beds are so comfortable you might never want to leave!
Will definitely return the next time we visit London.

My friend and I shared a Twin Deluxe room, very reasonable rate which included breakfast. Lovely room and it was ready on arrival at 1 p.m. (2 hours before the stated check in time of 3 p.m.) so it was great to be able to get into the room early. Nice decor, modern and clean, with big bathroom which had both a bath and a walk in shower and lovely Crabtree and Evelyn toiletries. On each bed a white bathrobe and slippers, a very nice touch. The beds were some of the comfiest I have ever slept in in a hotel and there was a 'pillow menu' from which you could order extra firm or memory foam or duck down (etc.) pillows from housekeeping - no charge. I ordered the memory foam pillows and they arrived promptly and were excellent. Room was equipped with iron, ironing board and hairdryer. There was a kettle and the usual tea, coffee etc. - the only 'downer' (and it has been similarly mentioned in other reviews) were the metal tea cups - not nice, they make the drinks taste funny and they also get very hot so you can burn your lips on the cup rim! I am all for modern but no, this is not in keeping with everything else, please replace with some nice china or porcelain cups or mugs!! We were in room 635 and it was incredibly quiet - we were overlooking the busy road but never heard a sound - the double glazing must be very good! Also no noise from other guests - don't know whether this was down to the guest or the soundproofing but one of the quietest hotel rooms ever! We dined in the restaurant, from the pre Theatre menu (3 courses for a very reasonable £21.50 including a free glass of wine). The food was excellent, as was the service. Breakfast was also very good indeed and served in a beautiful art deco style ballroom - gorgeous. Throughout our stay absolutely every member of staff - door men, housekeeping, reception, concierge, waiters - were delightful - very pleasant, helpful and courteous and I mean noticeably so. As someone who has stayed in many hotels including quite a few in London, the service was the best I have experienced in this country. In terms of location - fantastic. We had booked to see 'Dirty Dancing' at the Aldwych Theatre, and it is literally next door to the hotel. It's also ideal for many of the other theatres, within easy walking distance and right in the heart of 'theatreland'. Also 5 minutes walk to Covent Garden and the Opera House. I think also an easy walk to the London Eye, Trafalgar Square and lots of other 'sights'. I would recommend the hotel and would happily stay there again myself.

A guest rated their stay as 4 out of 5 and said:
I work for a travel agency and could therefore book this famous West End hotel at a discounted rate. We stayed in a "Queen Hilton Deluxe" room on the 7th floor with views over the West End. I would have expected the room to be a bit nicer and bigger, but for a London hotel it was still relatively spacious. Check-in was not a problem; the receptionist was friendly and the room was ready already in the morning, which was very convenient for us. I had mentioned to the hotel that we were celebrating a special occasion, and it was a wonderful surprise that they put a chocolate cake in our room during the afternoon. The breakfast is served in a grand hall, which is most impressive. There were queues in the morning and the waiters seemed a little "overwhelmed" by the many people arriving at the same time. So on the second day we were seated, and while we were at the buffet, someone else got our table. A plus is the swimming pool and health centre on the lower ground floor, which is operated by L.A. Fitness and is free to use for hotel guests. The Waldorf Hilton is an expensive hotel that has seen its best days. It boasts a great location right in the heart of the Theatreland, and you clearly pay for this. The rooms are nicely decorated but lack some details and amenities you would expect from such a famous luxury hotel. If you do manage to get a cheap deal for this offer, go ahead and book it - however, don't pay full price!
