| Rated 4.8 out of 5 : The hotel was everything that we expected with the staff particularly attentive and helpful. The "secret garden" is a bonus that is worth the stay in itself. The upgrade of the room was a second bonus. Rated 4 out of 5 : This hotel has the makings of a terrific hotel. It just opened in March of 2011 so everything is very new and modern. The rooms are spacious, even at the basic level. I stayed in the most basic King bed room and found it spacious enough for my working needs. Beds are very comfortable. Bathrooms are well appointed. They have a new Apple TV system, which worked great once I figured it out. The spa was great too. The only real potential downside is the location. If you need to spend time in Central London, this hotel is quite a ways out and a pricey cab ride. A couple other minor notes: - The wifi is through a 3rd party provider and is quirky, requiring users to purchase a voucher at the front desk every 24 hours and I had to re-log in every time my computer went to sleep or I shut it down. Same with my phone and ipad. - There is only one restaurant onsite, so food selection is not that great and there are no other options in walking distance. However the food in the restaurant and for room service was high quality and tasty. Service was fast. - The grounds are amazing for families and children, but it is not in a place that allows you to go out and walk around the city, this will require a cab ride and/or a tube/train ride. Rated 4 out of 5 : My business partner and I just came back today after our second visit to the Hotel. It is a luxurious hotel, providing one of the most attentive and personal service I ever experienced [I travel 100 nights /year]. All the staff is simply amazing - letting you feel you are a most valued guest. Rooms are comfortable and bathroom is fully equipped [TV near bath tub is a wonderful touch]. Rooms overlooking the park are great [though quite on the small size]. No coffee/tea facilities in the room are a big minus when you just want to enjoy the balcony. Breakfast is superb - complete, fresh and tasty. If you like to run - there is a 12km route along the Thames which is great. The concierge provides a map. Internet in the hotel downgrades it to a 1* hotel - you get those silly 24 hour BT cards which you need to re-register every time your computer is off more than 10-15 minutes. It is beyond belief how such a luxury hotel offers such 'cheap feel' internet service. As we needed to work - it was a mega hassle. If you look for top service at a relaxing and quiet location - this is your choice. If you need to work - not really a good place. Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Syon Park Rated 5 out of 5 : Truly an amazing hotel. The staff was incredibly helpful and extraordinarily nice. They had just opened the week before we arrived, so it was all brand new. One of my favourite things was the treat they left us in our rental car for one of our day trips. The staff left us bottled water and bags of treats that had been prepared at the hotel. Such a lovely surprise! I only wish that we had more time to spend there. It would have been fun to try the trout fishing! Rated 5 out of 5 : Wow. we have just got home from a absolutely amazing weekend in this new Waldorf Astoria and would recommend it to everyone, except that it feels better to have it to ourselves !! We are incredibly local to this new hotel and simply wanted to have a luxury weekend on our doorstep without really stepping foot outside. This is THE place for that kind of experience. Everything is shiny penny new with an incredibly opulent finish. The hotel has everything you could want to never leave the property- a luxurious spa, mosaic calm swimming pool and steam room, a high tech gym, acres of grounds and the adjacent stately home, a grand cocktail bar and best of all Brownies - an ice cream parlour! We loved the Dukes lounge too with its giant sofas and TV, pool table and chess board, really nice to be able to relax in the hotel's common areas Best of all though were the staff, with special mention to George. All staff made us extremely welcome and had amazing memories, asking if we'd enjoyed a dinner we'd planned or liked the pool the day after we used it - amazing! It really felt like a home from home with five star hotel opulence and we can't wait to return I simply cannot criticise this place. It had so many best ofs including the pool and spa, and best breakfast ever. All I can pity them for is the slightly odd design of the exterior - for some reason it looks like a Travelodge outside, but don't let that put you off - once you turn up and the valet whisks your car away you cross into another world. Loved it |
