| Description: The Basil Street Hotel is a traditional Edwardian-style hotel built in 1910 and reflecting the charm of an English country house. The hotel serves you in the style of Englands most gracious Age. a treasure trove of fine paintings tapestries antiques and objects d'art have been discreetly adapted to provide contemporary comforts in the heart of fashionable Knightsbridge. Close by are the exclusive shopping areas of Kings Road and Sloane Street as well as world famous store "Harrods". As in every great English country house the basil's 80 Bedrooms are individually styled. the English country house Tradition of afternoon tea is observed every day in the lounge Where you can also unwind with a pre-dinner drink. In the Evenings piano playing adds to the pleasure of eating in one of the loveliest hotel dining rooms in London. Approached from The Gallery with its secluded writing desks, the Dining Room offers English cuisine and classic Continental dishes, ranges from crab terrine to succulent roast ribs of beef and Dover sole. Complementing the delicious food is a varied and interesting wine list. The basil also offers banquet and conference facilities as well as the parrot Club lounge which offers lady guests a soothing retreat. |
