Introduction: The Travelodge Stansted Bishops Stortford originally opened in 2003 (as the Best Western Stansted Manor) and is less than 3 Miles from the passenger terminal at London Stansted International airport. Set well back from the road and on the outskirts of Birchanger, a small village of some 1,000 residents. Nearest Town is Bishops Stortford at 1.5 miles where you will find the Anchor Street leisure Complex with bowling alley, cinema, bar and health club. Birchanger Green Services is close by (less than 1/5th mile) where you'll find a few shops and fast food outlets. The hotel is sited on 8 acres of Metropolitan greenbelt land and is out of the airport Flight path. The nearby M11 motorway will take you to the airport to the north (around 10 minutes drive) or to North East London to the south. However it links with the M25 London orbital motorway meaning you have good links to all the London airports. Local places of interest include Waytemore Castle and Gardens (1.5 miles) ( Norman stone motte and bailey fortress), Bishops Stortford History Museum (1.8 miles), House on the Hill Toy Musuem (1.9 miles), Mountfitchet Castle (1.9 miles) (accurate reconstruction of the 1066 castle and settlement).

Shuttle: There is no airport transfer bus provided. Journeys to the airport are via road (car/taxi).
Directions: Take Exit M11 at Junction 8. Take the A120 signposted for Bishop Stortford/Birchanger. At the next large roundabout, turn right (signposted Birchanger) and get into the Birchanger lane. The Best Western Stansted Manor Hotel is currently signposted 200 yards along Birchanger Lane
