The Britannia International Hotel is located within the area now known as
the Docklands. Strictly speaking this is the Isle of Dogs. Once an area of
deserted and abandoned warehouses, now a regenerated and thriving financial area
and upmarket residential district. The Canary Wharf section f the docklands is
now a favourite choice for some of the worlds largest corporations and
businesses. The area has good amenities including shops, restaurants and
facilities. 3 minutes walk from South Quay on the Docklands
light railway and just 3.2 miles from London City Airport.
Situated by the waters edge. Just over a mile away on the opposite side of the
River Thames is the O2 Arena (was the Millennium Dome) here huge events are held
throughout the year. Just over a half a mile way is Billingsgate market which is
the largest fish market in the UK. Just over 2 miles from the major exhibition
entre, ExCel.Striking glass building the Britannia International Hotel Docklands provides guest with a traditional style hotel. All rooms are air conditioned, en-suite with bath and shower and double rooms come as standard, most have zip and link beds. Other facilities include Direct dial telephones, dressing table, Trouser press, Hairdryer, television and hospitality tray. All rooms get a free newspaper. Deluxe rooms are more spacious and some has a spa bath. Studios are split level with a spa bath, glass cabinets, dining table and chairs, spiral staircase and balcony. Penthouse is 2 rooms with a living area, Spa bath and a Balcony. The hotel has three Restaurants, a nightclub and a bar. Cromptons Restaurant: Serves classic cuisine, choice of à la carte or fixed price menu and has its own intimate cocktail bar. Open t guests and the general public. Open: 07.00 till 09.00 (closed weekends), 19.00 till 22.00 (closed Sunday) Jenny's Carvery Restaurant: With a view over the old Jamaican Sugar Docks and Canary Wharf, serves traditional food at value for money prices and the Big Britannia Breakfast, a selection of hot and cold dishes for a great start to the day. Open: 07.00 till 10.00 (weekends 07.30 till 10.30), Sunday lunch 13.00 till 15.00, dinner 19.00 till 22.00. The Pizzeria: With the décor of an Italian Trattoria serves traditional Italian food and a range of snacks and sandwiches. Open: noon till 23.00. Conservatory Bar: Has views over the river and serves a full range of drinks along with snacks. Floor to ceiling windows and laid out on split levels. Open from 10.00. 'Fridays' Nightclub & Bar: Dancing and big screen sports. Other Hotel facilities include Spindles Health and Leisure centre with swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam rooms, split level gym and its own bar, onsite parking and meeting rooms with a capacity of up to 600. Complimentary WiFi in public areas and some rooms. |
