Introduction:
The Comfort Inn Hyde Park is located in an area known as Bayswater (after the major road that runs just south of the hotel). This is a largely residential area north west of central London. It has large middle eastern population and many shops and bars in the surrounding areas cater to this section of the local residents. This includes the major shopping area of Queensway, just over 300 yards from the hotel, where there's a good range of shops, bars, restaurants and ice skating rink. However just a little further to the west at just over half a mile finds Notting Hill. This has a much different feel, with a village feel and some chic shopping. Hyde Park is a short walk to the south, a large popular park with boats for hire on the Serpentine Lake in the summer and used daily for Horse riding. Also close by is Paddington Station which gives direct access to Heathrow Airport via the Heathrow express train. All the popular tourist attractions are easily accessible from this location via the local transport links. Nearby places of interest include the Alexandra Fleming Laboratory (0.5 miles), Kensington Palace (0.7 miles) and Marble Arch (1 mile).
