Custom House Hotel at Excel

Description: The Custom House Hotel at Excel is situated opposite the ExCel Exhibition Centre and Custom House Docklands Light Railway Station. There is a direct bridge link between the hotel and the Excel centre. Ideally located for access to and from London City Airport via the shuttle service, and for business in the nearby Docklands/Canary Wharf area. The O2 Arena (was the Millennium Dome) is just 1.3 miles way albeit on the opposite side of the River Thames. There is a bridge link between the hotel and the ExCel exhibition centre. Other local places on interest include Queen Street Market (1.5 miles), London Gas Museum (1.6 miles), Billingsgate Market (1.7 miles) and Gallions Reach Shopping Centre (2 miles).

All rooms are sound proofed (double glazed). Bedroom facilities include en-suite facilities (power shower) hospitality tray, high speed internet access, ironing facilities, direct dial telephone with voicemail, interactive Television (ETVI allows you to make reservations and order room service via TV) pay movie and hairdryer. Superior rooms are air-conditioned.
All floors are serviced by a lift.

The Custom House hotel also has conference facilities. The Capstan Function Rooms consist of three rooms which are equipped with air-conditioning and adjustable lighting. The rooms can be combined to allow for a capacity of up to 350 guests.

History: At approximately 20.30 on March 7th 2007 a fire broke out on the hotels 5th floor which gutted the roof. Guests (around 100) had to spend the night in an nearby school.
Built in 2001. In 2005 merged with the Quality Hotel @ Excel which shared the same building.
