Introduction: The Express Wimbledon South is located in
Colliers Wood and is a 2 minute walk from Colliers Wood tube station. From the
station into central London is 30 minutes. The local areas main shopping takes
place at the Savacentre supermarket. At the time of its opening it was the
largest supermarket in Europe and still remains one of the largest. More
extensive shopping is located in Wimbledon proper at the Centre Court Shopping
Centre which is just over 1 mile from the hotel. London two largest airports can
be conveniently travelled from or to the hotel using the M25. For Heathrow you
link to the M25 via the A3 dual carriageway and for Gatwick you use the A24 or
A23. Expect the journeys to both take around 40 minutes in normal traffic. In
actual fact the closest airport is London Biggin Hill where its possible to
charter an aircraft to any worldwide destination. The airport is perhaps best
known though for its annual air show which started in 1963 and can attract near
to 100,000 spectators. The air show here is the largest privately run Air Show
anywhere in Europe. The hotel is very convenient for the
Wimbledon Tennis Championships
which is just 1.8 miles from here. The All England Tennis club where the event
is held has a museum which is worth a trip any time of the year. Other local
sporting arenas include Wimbledon Football Club and greyhound stadium which is
4.3 miles way. Streatham has an ice skating rink located just over 2 miles from
here and the Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium is 4.5 miles away.
Definitely worth a visit during your stay if you have the time are major
attractions of Kew Gardens (6.6 miles) and
Hampton
Court (7.2 miles). Local attractions include Abbey Mills craft fair and
market (0.3 miles) and Deen City Farm and Riding School (0.5 miles).

Like all hotels under the 'express' branding the hotel seeks to cater for both
the business traveller as well as the holiday maker.
The Holiday Inn Express Wimbledon bedrooms amenities include cable TV and pay

11.30 (weekends).
