Hotel Overview:
The Sofitel Gatwick is a purpose built hotel originally built in 1990. The hotel is directly attached to the airport's North Terminal by a short covered walkway. From the North terminal the free monorail train service connects the south and north terminals. The South terminal is where the airport train station is based and where services such as the Gatwick Express non-stop rail link to London Victoria station run from. While its the airports landside facilities that are the only real facilities within the immediate vicinity, the nearest major towns are Horley at 1 mile and Crawley at 2.5 miles from the hotel. There is a McDonalds drive through restaurant within half a mile within the airport grounds and a large Tesco supermarket within 0.7 miles at Hookwood.Hotel in Detail:
Modern and contemporary hotel and features the highest glass ceiling atrium in Europe. As you enter the Sofitel Gatwick lobby you are greeted by a Parisienne street scene complete with boulevards, sidewalk, cafes and bars. Physically adjoined to the Gatwick North Terminal.All bedrooms offer en-suite facilities (bath and shower) with a phone, hairdryer and radio. Inside your room amenities include air conditioning, satellite television with pay movies, mini-bar, safety deposit box, direct dial telephone with voicemail, radio, dataport, RJ25 Ethernet plug connection, iron/ironing board, high speed internet access, refreshment tray and trouser press.
