| Description: The Halkin Hotel
is located in central London in the exclusive area of Belgravia close to Hyde
Park Corner and many national Embassies in Belgrave Square. Close to Victoria
Station which is home to the Gatwick Express which goes non-stop out to Gatwick
Express. Almost opposite the hotel is the grounds of Buckingham Palace although
its walled of at this point. Surrounded by chic shopping at nearby Sloane
Street, Knightsbridge and Kings Road, Chelsea. Just 400 yards from Hyde Park
with its large open spaces and boating weather permitting on the Serpentine
Lake. Other nearby attractions include Buckingham Palace (0.5 miles), Harrods
Department Store (0.5 miles), St James's Palace (0.7 miles), Oxford Street (0.9
miles), Albert Memorial (0.9 miles), Natural History and Science Museums (1
mile). Chic and modern (contemporary Italian design), elegant and glamorous the Halkin hotel has its own individuality. A place where the staff are dressed in Giorgio Armani suits and is located in a relatively quiet side street off from the busy Grosvenor Place. Interiors have floor to ceiling doors. Each floor and bedroom is individually decorated. They share the same heritage of being the work of Italian designer Edith Leschke and use a combination of taupe, cream and beige in their decor within the light and airy interiors. Windows have leather-bordered taffeta curtains. Bedroom amenities include Hairdryer, Electronic safe, Minibar, Individually controlled air conditioning and temperature, CD/DVD Jukebox, Two dual line telephones, Modem points, Voice mail, Private fax/printer with designated number, UK and US desktop powerpoints 110/220 volt, High speed Internet access, Interactive satellite TV (Sony, with plasma screens in suites) with movies on demand, CDs, Touch-screen console for controlling the lighting or calling the butler call or requesting the room to be made up (it evens activates a do not disturb sign). Beds have 100% Egyptian cotton linen with fine goosedown duvets and pillows. Each guest room has an all Marble bathroom with top brand toiletries and Anti-mist bathroom mirrors (most have a separate walk-in Shower). Room service is 24 hours. Maid service everyday with turndown each evening. Room types: King Double: 27 to 33sq metres, King Superior: 34 to 38sq metres Deluxe: 45sq metres. Open plan corner rooms. Studio Suite: 47sq metres. Separate dressing area. Belgravia Suite: up to 58sq metres. Conservatory Suite: 64sq metres. Located on third and fourth floors. They have separate dining and living areas with conservatory-style windows. Dining: The hotel restaurant is the Innovative Nahm. The restaurant serves a sophisticated menu based on ancient Royal Thai traditions. The menu changes on a regular basis. Guests can also choose a number of different dishes from an alternative selection. As is the tradition in Thailand, all the food is served at the same time, so lunch at Nahm can be both quick and inexpensive. At dinner there is again the choice of a fixed price eight dishes over 4 courses, or an a la carte menu. Breakfast is also served. Open noon till 14.30 (closed weekends), 19.00 till 23.00 (till 22.00 Sunday). The hotel also has a bar next to the lobby area. Complimentary WiFi is accessible in the public areas and bedrooms.
