Introduction: The St. Ermin's Hotel London (MGallery Collection) is situated in
the heart of central London in a relatively quiet side turning off of Victoria
Street. Just around the corner from St James's tube station and Victoria Street
which is yards away is always a great place to hail a black cab or catch one of
the several buses that have routes along this major road. A short walk from
Parliament Square (0.2 miles) which is home to the
Houses of
Parliament, The House of Lords and
Westminster
Abbey. Just across Westminster Bridge which starts by parliament Square is
the
London Eye
(Millennium Wheel) (0.7 miles) which is probably the most popular attraction in
London. To the rear of the Hotel is St James's Park which is the South side of
the grounds of
Buckingham
Palace (0.3 miles). To the North East at 0.7 miles is
Trafalgar
Square. This is a major landmark and events venue in its own right. On the
North side of the square is the
National
gallery while the square is used to celebrate events such as the Chinese New
Year and New Years Eve itself. The famous fountain with its surrounding lions is
often a used an an impromptu bath and shower for visitors celebrating a
particular event. Its should be stressed however that this is not actually
allowed. Nearby major shopping can be found at Bond Street (fashion and
jewellery) (0.7 miles), Regent Street (0.8 miles) and the
Kings Road
Chelsea (1.1 miles).
Hotel:
The St Eermins Hotel is a Grade II-listed Victorian style hotel with a traditional English style
providing elegant and charming surroundings and a restful air. The Hotel interior is dominated by the stunning Baroque Staircase and the
wonderful architecture of the lobby (where afternoon tea can be enjoyed).
In keeping with the overall feel of the hotel the bedrooms have a classic
English feel but with a contemporary style. A global, textural influence lends a
calming feel to each bedroom. The rooms cover eight different categories of
accommodation type and every one of them is individually styled and designed.

Dining:
Caxton Grill: A stylish restaurant serving
innovative modern European food founded on seasonal and local ingredients.
Striking interiors with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The Caxton Quick menu is
ideal for a time-pressed business lunch the full Caxton Grill menu offers a wide
variety of dishes for a more leisurely dining experience. The kitchen features a Josper Grill, an innovative cooking method that imparts a distinctive charcoal
flavour to all the meat and fish placed upon its coals.
Caxton Bar: Fully licensed with full range of drinks. Serves a snack menu
alongside the drinks.
The
Caxton Terrace is unique to St. Ermins hotel, an alfresco space
overlooking the tree-lined courtyard and the same menu as The Caxton Bar.
Traditional afternoon tea is served in the hotel lobby.
The business traveller is well served with 15 meeting and conference rooms fitted
with up-to-the-minute equipment. The largest room can accommodate up to 250
delegates. The majority of these rooms enjoy air-conditioning along with the use
of natural daylight.

History:
The St Eermins Hotel sits on the site of a 15th-century monastery founded by King
Henry VII after being shipwreck off the coast of Brittany. He gave credit for
his survival to St Ermin, a Welsh saint. Built as mansion flats in 1887 and
converted to a hotel in 1900.
Became a MGallery collection hotel in 2010. Mgallery is part of the
Accor hotel group.
Sold by NH
Hoteles in April 2010 for £65 million pounds to US real estate development company Amerimar
Enterprises. NH Hoteles
acquired the St Eermins hotel in 2006 after taking over control of Jollys Hotels group.
£30 million pound refurbishment 2011. The hotel closed from 4th January 2011 to
April 2011.
Additions to the hotel in 2005 saw the installation of two lifts for
accessibility, one giving access to the hotel restaurant and the other is
installed at the hotel entrance.
