London Elizabeth Hotel

Description: The London Elizabeth Hotel is a Victorian building dating back to 1850 located opposite Hyde Park in this central London location (slightly North West of centre). Hyde Park is a large and popular open area with boating (weather permitting) on the Serpentine Lake, Horse Riding and the Serpentine gallery. In the far South East corner of |Hyde Park is Kensington Palace, the former home of the late Diana , Princess of Wales. Close to the mainline station of Paddington with its non-stop service to Heathrow Airport, the Heathrow Express. Nearby shopping at Edgware Road (0.4 miles), Marble Arch (0.4 miles) and Queensway (0.5 mile). Marble Arch marks the start of Oxford Street which is one on the UK's busiest shopping streets with a huge number of shops, bars and cafes. Other nearby attractions include London Toy and Model Museum (0.2 miles), Natural History and Science Museums (1 mile), Wallace Museum (1.1 mile), Madame Tussauds (1.2 miles), Buckingham Palace (1.6 miles), London Zoo (1.9 miles) and Westminster Cathedral (1.9 miles).

Bedrooms are all individual in size and decoration with features such as floral tones and antique-style English furnishings. They mostly have a traditional English decor and all are en-suite. Room amenities include television, digital safe, hairdryer, heating, fan and direct dial telephone. Many rooms additionally have a fridge and these may also be requested in advance.
The classic rooms are without air-conditioning but portable air-conditioners can be hired from the hotel for small extra charge.

Onsite the hotel serves breakfast in the Rose Garden Restaurant. At the rear of the hotel is a garden terrace where, weather permitting, drinks, meals or tea can taken. The restaurant serves what the hotel calls 'Country Casual' cuisine which is mainly British dishes with international influences. The menu is freshly prepared and has a rustic style. The hotel actually grows its own summer herbs and a variety of salad leaves.
The hotel has a licensed bar featuring old leather and warm wood panelling. With access to the garden terrace and serving a full range of drinks including draught beers, spirits, aged malt whiskies and a selection of fine wines. Also in-house cocktails.

Business guests have the use of a private meeting room with broadband Internet called the Boardroom and suitable for up to 8 delegates. The boardroom has a computer which guests may use when available. Free WiFi can be picked up in all areas of the hotel and even on the garden terrace.
