Novotel ExCel is located
alongside the Royal Victoria Dock 100 yards from the ExCel
Centre (opposite the West Entrance) and close to London City Airport
(1.4 miles). The hotel shares the same
building as the Ibis ExCel.
Built at the end of 2003 this a new generation Novotel. Within a few minutes by
road from Docklands/Canary Wharf this area gives access to east
London as well as into the City of London itself via the dual
carriageway that runs right through the Docklands towards Tower
Bridge (Aspen Way, A1261). Notable places of interest in the
surrounding areas include the O2
arena (Millennium Dome) (1.2 miles), Billingsgate Fish Market (1.7 miles),
Galleons Reach Shopping Centre (2 miles) and the Museum of the Docklands (2.1
miles). The Novotel Excel provides contemporary style accommodation. Bedroom amenities include en-suite facilities (hairdryer, bath, radio shower), Air conditioning, direct dial phone with voicemail, minibar, cable TV with pay movies, radio, tea/coffee facilities, safety deposit box, modem connection and Wi-Fi high speed internet access. The door to each guest room features a dead bolt. Room service is 24 hours. The hotel features a spacious air-conditioned brassiere style restaurant called the Upper Deck Restaurant (open 6.00 am till midnight) and a licensed bar. Terrace dining overlooks the docks and water. Snacks are served in the chic bar area and the bar itself is open 110.00 till 01.00. Also onsite is a fitness room with gym and sauna.
