Hotel: The
Thistle Heathrow Hotel faces the
airports northern runway and some parts of the hotel (including bar) have partial (not great),
views of the runway. The hotel is located on a
section of road where access is limited thus limiting the amount traffic, in any
case the hotel is set well back from the road.
The hotels bedrooms are all en-suite. Amenities
include air conditioning, soundproofing, direct dial telephone, trouser press,
flat screen TV with digital channels, iron and ironing board, work desk, hairdryer, safe and tea and coffee making facilities. Bedrooms can
pickup a WiFi connection (charge) and some rooms are available that have fixed
internet connection points.

First Edition Restaurant: 200 seats capacity and serves contemporary
British and European dishes. The restaurant has a terrace with views of the Heathrow
terminal 5 area, northern runaway and plane take-offs.

Oak and Avocado Lounge: A large ground floor lounge area with a capacity for up to 100,
the restaurant serves a range of drinks and all day snacks.

Hotel guests are able to use the health and leisure club which is opposite the
Thistle Heathrow Hotel (pool, sauna, gym) (charges apply).
The hotel has 18 air-conditioned meeting/conference rooms with air-conditioning,
the largest of which seats 700 theatre style. There are also 5 syndicate rooms
which are suitable for smaller meetings.

Vicinity: The Thistle Heathrow Hotel Terminal 5 is located just
to the West of Heathrow Airport in an area called Longford. This section is
nearest to terminal 5 which is just over half a mile away. This location is also
convenient for
Windsor (Castle) (5.3 miles) and
Ascot
(racecourse) (9.6 miles) which are major towns also to the west of the airport.
Nearby attractions include Spelthorne Museum (3.5 miles) and Slough Museum (4.8
miles). Opposite the hotel is a fitness/leisure centre while 300 yards from the
hotel is a McDonalds Restaurant to the north and by the junction with the
Colnbrook Bypass. One third of a mile to the south along the Bath Road are two
traditional pubs, The
Kings Arms and
the White Horse. The nearby village of Longford is just 5 minutes away and
offers opportunities for places to eat and drink along with a few small shops. This section of the Bath Road is actually relatively quiet
in terms of traffic since its no entry further down to the south for traffic
going north. This means it cant be used a through route for traffic trying to
join the A4.
Shuttle: Shuttle bus (
hotel
hoppa bus H4 and H54) runs between the airport (all terminals) and the hotel
from 5.16 am until 23.30. Cost
£4 one way, £7 return (onboard £4.50 one way, £8 return)
Served by the 423 bus (from terminal 5 only) which is part of the
free bus route
around Heathrow Airport. For the central area of terminals 1 and 3 (the
central bus station) you can use the 75 and 76 buses which have a stop just over
200 yards from the hotel.
