Introduction: When the Trafalgar Hilton London first
opened in 2001, it became the very first lifestyle hotel in the Hilton
portfolio. Located in the very heart of tourist London yards from one of the
best known London landmarks,
Trafalgar
Square. Your on top of everything in this location. The square of course is
famous for the towering
Nelsons Column, its fountain and the
National
gallery on its north side. Traffic no longer is allowed on the North side
giving far more freedom to the visitors. There also cafes within the square
itself. Just North of the square is Regent Street with its large selection of
shops, bars, restaurants and boutiques. On the Eastern side of Regent Street is
London's nightlife and theatreland and places such as
Covent Garden (0.4
miles) and
Soho (0.5 miles).
The Hotel is also at the end of the Mall which is the road that leads up to the
entrance of
Buckingham Palace (0.6 miles), the London residence of the reigning
monarchy. You are also yards from St James's Park which makes up part of the
grounds of the Palace. A short walk to the rear of the hotel finds the banks of
the River Thames which has several vantage points for just sitting and watching
the passing boats or a signposted walk along much of its length if your prefer.
The hotels location on Spring Gardens also runs parallel to Whitehall which is
home to many government buildings as well as the prime ministers residence at
10 Downing
Street (0.2 miles).
