NW4 is the London postcode for Hendon. A middle class residential with a a busy
high street situated along the A41 Watford Way and the junction with Station
Road. The area has a large Jewish and Asian population. This also where the
towns tube station, Hendon Central is located. The area includes several popular
pubs, some Irish owned and themed. There is also a busy area long Parson Street.
Although not actually within NW4 the Brent Cross shopping is regarded locally as
being located in Hendon as its nudged right long the border. The shopping mall
is known as North London's West End and employees a large number of people in
the local area. Again the RAF museum, another landmark spoken of as being in
Hendon, which stands where once was Hendon Aerodrome, is actually in NW9
which is Colindale, not Hendon.
Attractions in the area include the Church Farmhouse Museum on Greyhound Hill.
This building is grade II listed and dates from the middle of the 1600's, the
farmhouse holds exhibitions through the whole of the year.
