The location centres around the Kilburn High Road which is a busy major main road. Its actually part of the A5 which goes all the way to North Wales and is one of the longest straight Roads in the UK. Here there are many many shops and bars. The area is home to large Irish population which is reflected in the many Irish pubs to be found here. The East side of the road has become known as West Hampstead. This is something of a local joke and its said the residents keep their house prices up and have a snob value in associating themselves with the close by Hampstead which is a very expensive and sort after location.
