The W1 area, known as West One or the West End, is the location thought of as central London, though really central London is Charing Cross in WC2. West One W1 is an area mixed with some of the top hotels, upmarket shopping and all the night life and recreation you can handle. Oxford Street splits London W1 into two distinct areas, Fitzrovia and Marylebone to its North and Mayfair to its south. Home to a host of top attractions such as Planet Hollywood, Speakers Corner, Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street, Trocadero Centre and many of London's best known theatres. Top entertainment venues in W1 include the London Palladium in Argyll Street where tops from all over the world have played over the years. Best known museums in W1 include the Wallace Collection with its Art collection in Manchester Square. W1 is rich with shopping with Oxford Street being one of London most popular and busy shopping areas with a wide diversity of shops. Bond Street is best known for fashion and Jewellery, Regent Street has many top name shops with many bars and restaurants. Most of the side turnings off of Regent Street lead onto more niche type shopping, theatres, clubs and other entertainment venues. London W1 stretches as far as Piccadilly where more fine shopping other amenities can be found alongside top names such as Fortnum and Masons.
