This major London road junction dates back to 1819 when it was constructed to join Regent Street from its north with Piccadilly to its west side.
Central focal point is the statue of Eros which at one time was in the middle of a roundabout around which traffic flowed, this is no longer the case.
Said to get its name from the very British 17th century collars called Pickadills, made by a tailor in this area.
