We really enjoyed our stay at the Apex City of London Hotel. It is very pretty inside and is located in a nice quiet area. The staff were very friendly and the reception desk helped us several times when we needed to make calls or figure out travel plans. The complimentary biscuits and tea were refilled every day and added a nice touch. The free rubber duck (the kind you have in a bath) named Edwin was also a cute keepsake. The only strange part of the stay was that every time we came back, housekeeping would unplug the mini fridge and turn off the A/C. Otherwise, housekeeping was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.

We were staying as part of a 50th birthday group and all the guests had chocolates and a hand written note from the manager in their rooms, which was a lovely thoughtful touch. Everything about this hotel is excellent. Towels are bath sheets, not the usual flannel sized ones (!), bath robes and slippers provided too. Quiet, very efficient air con, although it didn’t seem to be able to stay on to cool the room while we were out (fine for me, not so much for my other half :-)).
lovely spacious bathroom, good wardrobe space, bottled water provided and refreshed every day. Lots of room and most importantly, very quiet surroundings for London. Excellent breakfasts and bar. Lovely modern decor and in a great spot for the river and up town. best hotel and value in London.

Hotel is a great location for many attractions. Rooms were spotless, bed very comfortable breakfast of a good quality. Hotel were incredibly accommodating on a booking issue we had and went way and beyond the service I have had from other hotels of similar standard. Will definitely return. 4.5/5.

Fantastic hotel close to Tower of London and Tower Hill tube station which is 3 minute walk away. Tower Bridge only 6 minute walk. We had a balcony room which overlooked the bridge which was worth the extra penny's. The hotel was clean with great amenities. Daily housekeeping staff were extremely efficient and excellent at refreshing the room. Beds were nice and firm but pillows could do with changing. The Lampery staff in particular Robert, Vicky and Eric are a credit to the restaurant and Apex. An asset that is hard to find in establishment's these days. They catered to over every need and excelled at their positions. The range of menu items as well as continental options was exceptional. This was our first time at the Apex City of London and we enjoyed every moment. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return in the future. Well done to the Apex Team to a job well done.

Rooms were very clean and the area Is very pretty, safe and historic. You do have easy access to different sites and restaurants. Pubs are within walking distance if preferred. We dined in a beautiful restaurant called Windsor, food was exceptional! We were also fortunate to attend absolutely wonderful party for Jeff at that establishment, would definitely come back for repeat visit to the hotel staff and restaurant were amazing.

Have been to all 3 Apex hotels in London, all good, this one particularly good for location. Very spacious room, large bathroom, dark and quiet at night with comfortable bed: all I want from hotel room.
location is good for underground access, or Docklands Light Railway or buses. And walking distance to plenty of eateries including St Katherine's Dock.

Location good for hop on hop off but not for shops close by. Able to
Uber to special restaurants but some passable options close by. Full breakfast was ok but no where near the spread of fresh berries and The fruit and cheeses we have seen in even small places we stayed in the countryside. Service was slow in the morning but we were not in a rush. Room was one with balcony but would not get that again unless it faced the London bridge with a view. Shower/bath was great. Young people at the front desk were always a pleasure to interact with and were helpful getting a driver to the airport. Liked reading area down in the lobby to the Right of the front desk.

I have stayed at Apex City hotel several times and have always good experiences. The room size is good compared with many London hotels and there is a very good bathroom with excellent shower facilities. Location of the hotel is good with short distance to trainsand underground and if arrival at City airport it very convenient. Just a short walking distance to St. Kathrins dock with many nice reatuarants abd bars by the seaside.

Very clean, great location. Room was very small at first, but hotel accommodated us and gave us a room with a different layout which had more space since the bathroom was smaller. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

We arrived here for a two night stay for our first wedding anniversary, we had an early flight and arrived at the hotel at 11am and the lady who checked us in at reception checked to see was our room ready, and when they advised it was not she took my phone number to call when our room was ready and held onto our luggage. Which meant we coulf go off exploring! I had emailed and booked a bottle of prosecco as a surprise for my husband on arrival and when we got to our room they had left a dessert plate with Happy Anniversary and a card which was a wonderful touch! Our room was spacious and very clean! I had an issue with the hairdryer but maintenance came very quickly and replaced it for us! I would highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely stay here again! Very close to Tower Hill Station giving you great access to all parts of London!

This is my second stay here and my wife’s fourth.
We obviously return because we enjoyed the stay.
Good location, near Tower tube station. Close to the tower, river, St Katherine’s Dock and many other places of interest.
The hotel is modern, very clean and staff are very helpful and attentive.
Roomies are always clean, fresh and well maintained with robes and luxury toiletries.
We had a continental breakfast which is adequate, but for not much extra, cooked breakfast is available.
Our default hotel when in London.

This hotel is located in a safe area near a metro stop for easy access to the subway system. Hotel room was very clean and comfortable but 2 negatives stood out. First is our television didn't work (minor issue) the second night of our stay and when I contacted the front desk I was told that their are no maintenance on during the night (A little scary if something more important needed fixing). The front desk I realized don't speak or understand English very well, as she first stated she was going to fix television, then stated her manager suggested changing rooms which we reluctantly agreed to. When we asked to see the room first before changing (as we had a low floor room facing the street) she stated no for security reasons we must check out of the room first, then come downstairs to pick up new room key. After speaking with manager that this was crazy (nice person) she stated it was the staffs comprehension of English that was at issue. Next morning we went for breakfast and my wife ordered toast only which she never received. When I asked for the bill and notified waitress that our waiter never gave my wife her toast she apologized then gave us a bill with 2 buffets charged instead of only one. Again the lack of understanding English in London. Maybe only our issue as everything else was fine at the hotel which we found to be satisfactory other than these 2 issues.

Stayed here with my husband for a Long weekend.

pros:
- Very safe location; great bars and restaurants nearby.
- Friendly front desk staff.
- Decor and atmosphere of lounge and restaurant were beautiful.
- Clean rooms.

cons:
- Service is extremely slow in the restaurant. There were 8 guests in the lounge one afternoon with 3 staff members serving everyone. It took 15 minutes to have our drink order (of 2 drinks) delivered to us.
- We ate breakfast one morning and were offered coffee. Which was not actually brought to the table until 20 minutes later.
- The cleaning staff did not replace the toilet paper roll in our room. We called the front desk twice for a replacement. It arrived 30 minutes later.
- The food in the restaurant is mediocre. Ordered eggs Benedict one morning and was served with two soft boiled eggs over a half toasted dry-as-cardboard English muffin with a dollop of hollandaise sauce.
- Not sure if the bed was suppose to be as firm as the ground, but it was.

overalL
Expected more for the cost of the rooms. Would not return.

Good location for sightseeing. Pleasant hotel in quiet area but not too far to walk to south Bank and only a 5 minutes walk to tube line at Tower Hill and main line Fenchurch Street. We didn't eat at the hotel but it seemed popular. Nice seating in bar area. Would recommend staying here.

We had a great stay for our family vacation. Lots of great things to do either in the neighbourhood or via a short walk to the tube. Lots of restaurants nearby as well. Staff was helpful in collecting our bags and sending them to our room as we arrived from our flight early in the morning before our check-in time.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for his 22nd birthday and I have absolutely no negative comments to make.
Initially we were given a room without a window however, I was hoping for a nice bright room with a view.
I spoke to the front desk and they immediately upgraded us to the 5th floor to a beautiful room with a lovely view of the church across the road.

The bathrooms are beautiful and the beds are the comfiest I have ever stayed in.
The staff are also wonderful people who can’t do enough for you. (They also loaned us an umbrella for the day)

The Tower of London and Tower Bridge are in extremely close proximity with also a nearby Wetherspoons and other restaurants and bars.

I would highlY recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Apex City Hotel because we had stayed in Apex Bath a year before and we had loved it. Apex City London didn't disappoint us. Everything was great and although we didn't have much contact with the staff, we felt at home thanks to Carla who was at the reception the last day and made things easier for us. The hotel location is great too. I highly recommend it.

Overall an ok hotel in a very good location (City of London) with the Tower and the Tower Bridge as well as subway in walking distance close by. For the price we've paid for this family suite the sofa bed could be of much better quality. In my opinion not good enough. Our room (240) looked into a walled courtyard, windows could not be opened. And the air condition created a very uncomfortable draft (my wife and two kids got a cold). If ac was turned off, the room temperature became unbearable. Room service was very good with Nespresso coffee machine and fresh water every day. I guess the higher up you are floor-wise in this hotel the better.

I stayed 3 nights here with my family of three for vacation. We couldn't be happier that we chose this place. The concierge was very friendly and attentive to our needs. We arrived two hours before our check-in time and she offered to put a priority on getting our room ready. In the meantime she offered great advice where to get lunch which was very helpful indeed. She offered to hold on to our luggage as we went off to get food and informed us she would give us a call when our room was ready. We really appreciated this service.

The nearest underground station (Tower Hill) is just a 5-minute walk away and from this all points in central London is less than 30 minutes away. many sights are walking distance. These include the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and St. Katherine's Docks. Old Spitalfields Market is about a 20-minute walk. There is no shortage of places to eat.

at the end of exhausting days of sightseeing, we appreciated the quiet and comfort of our air conditioned room at Apex! I am glad to report that the good reviews of the place are true.
.

We fancied a change from our usual haunt of the Westminster area, when staying in London and we enjoy dining around the St Katherines Dock area, so decided to choose a hotel that was located within easy walking distance of this.

The hotel was very comfortable. Great shower and bed; the 2 key things for me when staying in any hotel and i’ve Stayed literally hundreds of nights in many many hotels over the past 20 years.

We didn’t dine at the hotel, so cannot comment on the food standard and choice, though the restaurant looked pleasant enough.

We’d definitely stay here again.

And the breakfast was really dissapontment -lack of variety food, when we came there were almost nothing so we order from the menu. Anyway clean room and near to city centre was big plus.

I came across this small hotel chain earlier in the year when I booked for my parents to stay in their Bath hotel. Having been impressed with their stay, I decided to book my partner and I into the City of London hotel as a surprise for her birthday.

I booked the Shopping experience which included a free room upgrade & a bottle of Prosecco. It was reasonably priced and did not disappoint. The hotel location is perfect if you're going to be in/around the City. The staff are fantastic. The hotel was clean, modern and comfortable. The room was great (with a balcony overlooking Tower Bridge).

I had emailed ahead to tell them we were celebrating a birthday. When we walked into our room there was a dessert on the table with Happy Birthday written in chocolate on the plate and rose petals on the bed.

I would have no problem recommending this hotel (or any of the Apex hotels) to anyone and will definitely use them again in the future.

**My only criticism is that the balconies aren't particularly private. I would describe them more as a shared terrace. It's fine, unless you have overly friendly neighbours who keep harassing you to go for a drink with them (as we did).

We stayed at the Apex London Hotel, Seething Lane, a couple of years ago and had no hesitation in booking here again. Great hotel with all mod cons with staff who go out of their way to help. Excellent historical location just round the corner from the Tower of London, close to bus and underground services with many restaurants and cafes nearby.
