We recently stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, on the 2nd floor of one of the residences. A very local feel, whilst all the conveniences of a luxury hotel. Bunk beds for the kids with amazing little touches to make the stay so special, including milk and cookies, games, dvds, colouring books and toys for the kids to use in the room. We had excellent room service for breakfast and dinners. Nespresso machine, fridge and washer/dryer were all very useful. Every member of staff we interacted with was extremely friendly whilst delivering polished service.

Besides the perfect location, the highest level of luxury and comfort, the professionalism and kindness of the staff, the main reason why I will not stay anywhere else but the Athenaeum for my future trips to London is Darren.
Darren is the most professional, knowledgeable, helpful, proactive, and patient concierge I have ever met. If you add to this a wonderful sense of humor you got a superstar.
We had purchased tickets online (to be delivered at the hotel) to attend a very important game of the Premier League. When I realized that these tickets would never show up, Darren immediately placed a couple of calls and got us three excellent tickets, just the day before the game. In other words Darren saved our trip to London since this match was the purpose of our trip. But that is not all. We were lucky to follow his advice, and have him get us great seats for two musicals (School of Rock and Tina), tickets for Churchill's War Room and Sherlock Holmes House, plus reservations in several excellent pubs and restaurants. We cannot wait to go back to London and stay at the Athenaeum where we feel that we have a new friend.

The staff of this hotel are very well trained and very helpful. The accommodations are adequate but certainly not luxurious. We stayed in one of the apartments which has a seating room, bedroom, kitchenette. The bar is very nice and not crowded when we went. Breakfast was so so. Please see my restaurant review.

We ended a month's vacation/celebration in Europe in London at the Athenaeum Hotel on Green Park for a 4 day visit.

What a wonderful time it was!

Starting with Simona, a supervisor at check in, who practically did back flips to solve a minor problem when we first arrived. She was so genuinely gracious and helpful, and determined to make us happy. She is exactly what any place in the hospitality business would want as the first face for their guests. Whenever we saw her after that she continued to be as gracious and charming as she was on day one.

Then we met Darren at the concierge desk. Wow...he was so efficient, helpful, kind, charming and had great suggestions and advice. He practically organized our entire next 4 days in London!! All of which turned out to be great.

We'll be back for sure. You should go!

I found a last minute deal to stay 1 night at the Athenaeum. It is very centrally located, the staff were wonderful and helpful. The room is very cosy and a teddy bear greets you on the bed. The bathrobes are amazing and may need to purchase one for myself. The spa is small but relaxing, spent some time in the steam room and hot tubs. The bar downstairs is great, the bartender was great to chat to while I waited for a friend and he made a wonderful old fashion. They take time to make but are worth the wait! I ordered room service and had one of the best burgers ever! It was hard to leave as I would have liked to stay the rest of the week.

Service, rooms and everything is good - but the windows not soundproof and a lot of noise during entire night. Not just my room but my colleague in a different building of the hotel had same problem. I won’t go back as Long as there are no better windows.

After being a regular (3-4 times a year) guest for the past 8 years, I am sad to say that this will be my last stay. This morning at 6 am on a Sunday - I was rudely woken up to find a member of staff had barged into my children’s room (connecting rooms) - while they were sleep - claiming to be delivering newspaper. We had put the do not disturb sign on the door and when I said to the man - what are you doing, don’t you see the sign? He tried to hide the fact that he was sneaking into my children’s room with a lame excuse of misunderstanding.

The equally rude duty manager, Mina (avoid him at all costs), then called to say that I shoved the man and that was not acceptable. Totally made up of course. I asked him to come to the room to show him that there could not have been a misunderstanding and clearly the staff was being sneaky.

He then started to scream at me and was rude and belligerent trying to cover for his staff. He aggressively came towards me in a threatening way and I pushed him away... he told us we must leave the hotel. I told him to leave and to call the police.

These two have some SCAM going on between them or possibly worse. I can not tell you how scary this was for my family. All of us feel scared - most of all our son.

Never ever stay at this hotel.

We stayed 6 nights at the hotel and it was a great experience with Nespresso in the room, prompt service and good housekeeping.

Situated along Mayfair, location is second to none.

One minor feedback is having to shower in the tub with 1/2 of a screen door leads to a very wet floor. The layout was poor requiring to maneuver between the toilet bowl and screen door, great for acrobats!

All in, will recommend highly aside from this minor inconvenience.

My Fiancé and I stayed for one night and were blown away with the attention to detail from the moment we approached the hotel. The welcome greeting at the door, check and attention to detail all amounted to a 5-star experience that tops any other… and we have stayed at a lot of hotels in Mayfair. Darren, the chap at concierge was the icing on the cake, extremely bubbly, helpful and knowledgeable. He assisted us with our plans and facilitated one of the best nights out we have had in London. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

We recently stayed at this amazing property. The townhouse was spacious and very clean. The furniture, materials and fixtures and fittings were also of a high standard. The shower in the bathroom was probably one of the best I've used.

However - a special thanks goes out to Darren on the Concierge Desk. Nothing was ever any trouble for him. When we asked for advise on things to do to keep the children occupied his advice was spot on. Keep up the good work Darren - you are certainly an asset to the hotel!

Based on our stay this summer, the Athenaeum is the only hotel I'll book for future trips to London. It truly came to feel like home--albeit a much more creatively stylish one. Afternoon tea was the best of our trip in the you.K., with excellent service and gorgeous china to compliment the delicious sandwiches, scones, and pastries. The View is a well-named haven for a cup of tea or a drink perched over the park and the view of the city beyond. Our room was well-appointed and very comfortable, and the restaurant was so good it made it hard for us to leave and go out for dinner! Thoughtful touches abounded, and the floral arrangements (as well as the exterior living wall) were distinctively beautiful.

A very disappointing experience, especially based on my last experience at this hotel. The staff was busy telling me what they couldn’t do vs. helping me with what was possible. They didn’t handle the billing account properly. The room had issues - bad mattress and a leaky shower. This is not the Athenaeum I remember.
.

Came to the Athenaeum to meet up with a friend who I hadn’t seen in a while. I was warmly welcomed by Jim the doorman who guided me to the restaurant, where I found a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Me and my friend both had the steak, which was cooked to perfection and Johnny our waiter was very attentive. I would highly recommended Galvin at the Athenaeum and will be returning very son.

I’ve just had a two night stay here, having come a couple of times before and loving it.
All staff were amazing and welcoming- especially sonica in reception and Federico up at ‘The View’. I even had some cake delivered to my room and a room with a view (upgrade I believe) to make my birthday even more special!
It is different from when I was last here, I remember free in-room snacks and cookie at night. The lobby lay out is also changed. However... the quality of service was so wonderful this time and I would happily come again, and recommend to friends.
Top tip- Do go to the 10th floor ‘The View’... it was lovely and relaxing and I was there at a time when free drinks and cheese board were available. A lovely surprise!
Perfect location as well.

the hotel room size and layout very good, the staffs are very helpful and service very good, the bed mattress is very comfortable for sleeping, the check in and check out is very fast and flexible i.e, if you come early to hotel, if the room is ready and available, the staff will let you check in early, the check out time is 12 noon, but if we need to check out later, the staff will help to check the room availability, if can, they will allow us to check out 3pm.

I was invited to attend a workshop meeting in London last week. I often travel to London and other countrys for workshops and seminars, but ths was exceptional! I guess the managers are very carefully selected at a place like this - the manager lady (Esther) taking care of us made the whole event a hugh succsess. Not only is she elegant, polite and sophisticated she effortlessly communicated fluent in German and Italian as well with some of our collegues! Food was excellent and its rare to have a meeting room with such a nice view. It was raining and my umbrella was in a very bad condition - as I handed it to Esther I apologized as it was dirty and old, I told her how ashamed I am to use it infront of my collegues. By the end of the meeting she has dried our coats and a brand new atheneaum umbrella was hanging with my coat! She didn't say a word as there were a lot of people around, she just smiled at me and nodded reasurring me that it is indeed mine, I got so emotional - all my collegues were admiring my new umbrella. It is only an umbrella - but the gesture was priceless. I am telling this story everyone, everywhere I go in the world! This level of emphathy is a rare gift. We are returning there for our next meeting, and we will stay in the Hotel next time!
