Tatty run down, staff more interested in their phone than serving people absolutely would not recommend. I have had better service in a Wetherspoon pub, if you’re in the area there are plenty of options apart from here. On the plus side the music was good.

Great location right opposite Liberties so just perfect for retail therapy but that's about it. Dirty carpet at entrance not the best first impression. Reasonable check in but nothing special - first room offered was dreadful - very pokey and stank of smoke - dismal outlook of a roof. Moved to another more spacious room but very tired, dirty carpets, no complimentary water, awful mis match of toiletries, curtains hanging off and another dismal outlook of a wall - as this was meant to be an upgraded room goodness know what the lesser ones were like.
Popped to bar after a night out but official bar man unavailable so no 'after dinner cocktails' could be served - just the basics.
Very expensive for what it is but you are paying for the location but that really is about the only positive. Loads and loads of hotels in reasonable locations to choose from - this one certainly won't be on our list again.

My husband booked this hotel as part of a birthday surprise for myself and our son. We had a fantastic day at the theatre and then went to book into this hotel before our dinner reservation. And then it all went rapidly downhill.
At check in, we were told that a larger group had decided to extend their stay and there were no Longer any rooms available. We had booked and paid for our room and so this was very disappointing and a bit of a shock. I have travelled quite widely and this has never happened to me before. The duty manager appeared. We were offered a stay at their sister hotel in Shoreditch (nearly 5 miles away) or The Washington Hotel in Mayfair (12 minutes by taxi). As compensation, we were offered a room upgrade and breakfast and a ‘free’ taxi. The duty manager, Ilias, was apologetic but unable to make any decisions without calling the General Manager, who was currently unavailable - presumably as he did not feel it was necessary to keep in contact on a busy bank holiday weekend. I wonder if he had been available to make the decision to let our room to a bigger group?
On discussion by phone with my husband, we discovered that the hotel in Mayfair was 4 star and therefore not comparable. A room upgrade was not a perk but a necessity to be equal standard. A ‘free’ taxi ride is laughable because I should not have needed to go in a taxi at all, if our booked room had been available. Breakfast was also not a requirement as we had intended brunch outside of the hotel. All in all it was an annoying let down. Iliad could make no independent decisions. He was useless and, although grovellingly apologetic, did nothing to help make the situation better. I argued for a while but it became apparent that he had no will to help.
Eventually, after a 40 minute discussion achieving nothing, I decided to go to the Mayfair hotel so that my son’s evening was not spoiled. My husband cancelled our restaurant booking, thinking that there would be plenty available. The other hotel was ok and they were reasonably helpful. The room was alright. We were given no help in getting a different restaurant reservation. Burger and Lobster around the corner was suggested but was full and heaving at the seams. Eventually, after trying 7 restaurants, we ended up eating at Pizza Hut. Not what we wanted at all but again, ok.
The next day, we ate our free breakfast. It was ok. I wished we hadn’t bothered. We checked out with no apology and proceeded to have a wonderful day.
Everything about this experience handed to us by The Courthouse Hotel was shocking. It was outrageous that we were left to deal with someone who could make no decisions. He was no help. Our special experience would have been ruined had I not decided to be positive and upbeat. We had planned our weekend so that it was special to us - The Courthouse Hotel was an awful experience and one that I would not recommend. A booking not being honoured shows a lack of respect for paying customers and it should never be the case that the only person left in charge is unable to make any decisions.
Customer Service 0
Rooms No idea.

I had booked and paid for his hotel as a special occasion for my wife and son months ago.

On arrival the Duty Manager informed my wife there was no room available as it had been sold to a bigger group. They were downgraded to a 4 star hotel not in the area and missed their dinner reservation. They requested and were refused a complimentary dinner.

My wife was lied to and disrespected. The General Manager was fully aware of these events but refused to speak with me.

How shoddy is that?

I have been using this hotel for 15 years. Never again.

I would booked dinner and a film at the hotel's private cinema as a birthday treat for my wife. Fortunately I would looked up the location before arriving as there's no sign outside to say it's a hotel!
Reception and lobby is cold and dark - staff likewise. We eventually found the Silk restaurant which is inside the beautiful oak-panelled old courtroom. The opportunity to make a special atmosphere in this space has been totally lost as the decor is a mix of Thai temple, Indian takeaway and transport caféé. The designer must have been schizophrenic!
There are two entrance doors side by side (old doors to the cells) and our table was next to one of them which was supposed to be locked. It was not. Another customer opened it and slammed into my wife's chair.
Only 14 covers and 3 staff so with an hour and a half before the movie we thought we had plenty of time to enjoy our meal. It took 10 minutes to get a one page menu, plastic laminated (transport caff style) and limited to say the least (4 starters, 3 desserts). We placed our food order and my wife asked for the cocktail menu. We were given a wine list (same plastic laminated one pager). No cocktails. After pointing this out the waitress disappeared to the bar and came back with a cocktail menu. We were told we could order but it would take some time as there were a lot of people waiting for drinks at the bar (it was empty when we came in). The cocktail arrived almost immediately as did the starter. Things quickly went downhill from there.
It took a full 20 minutes after the starter for the main course to arrive. Seeing the tiny bowl of vegetables I would ordered as a side I asked for French fries only to be told it would take too Long, so I got stuck into my duck breast served with a nondescript sauce that looked as if it had been squeezed through a nozzle (transport caff again! ). Plates removed, no offer of a dessert, but as we still had 30 minutes left before the cineam we asked for a menu and ordered on apple crumble to share. 25 minutes later, no sign of the crumble or any waiting staff and the film was about to start. We got up to leave which at last brought out a waitress. Five more minutes for the bill to arrive. It was wrong. We finally managed to pay and got to the cinema 10 minutes after the film had started. At least the film was good.
This experience was so awful even the waitress apologised as we left. I almost felt sorry for her.

The room was very small and dark, the bathroom old fashion and not so clean. The breakfast was bad quality for 20 pounds. Nothing fresh. The location is good and I thought that for this range of price the hotel would be good but no value for money.

We booked this hotel as a special treat but was disappointed. The room was just ok but for 5 star we expect dressing gowns, none to be found just slippers! No usb charging points, bathroom needed a make over as the shower head was on a pole that had bits missing and wouldn’t come down low enough for me to shower without getting my hair soaked. The toilet when flushed made glugging noises for 20 minutes. The breakfast was poor choice. No choice of eggs just scrambled, mushrooms looked like tinned ones. Had to serve yourself which in 5 star And for the price I expected better. At Check out only one serving and very Long queue, even had copy of someone else’s credit card details on our bill. We usually stay in a well known chain and will be going back to them. On a positive the location was excellent.

Five star hotel located in the old Courthouse. I stayed purely because if its proximity to The London Palladium, two minutes walk. Oxford Circus tube also two minutes away. First impression was it is poorly signposted from the outside, I walked past it twice! Check in was cold and inhospitable, very dark, not told anything on arrival about the facilities, only breakfast times. Receptionist was disinterested. Couldn’t find the lifts, had to ask to two different members of staff before the last one walked me to the area as they are tucked away. Bedroom was quite nice, tired, but spacious, poor view. But that’s to be expected with most backstreet London hotels. Bathroom good. Bath and over bath shower.
After show at lp, had a drink in the bar. Clever use of the old cells but, for 1030 pm, it was so quiet! Barman struggled with his English, two wines for £13. Decent nights sleep on a super-king bed, window in the room actually opened. Breakfast was served in the dining room - the wall decor reminded me of old toilets! Tiled and very cold. Buffet breakfast looked good but the hot items were cold! Waitresses were chatting amongst themselves and had to attract their attention twice to refill my tea. For the price £249, you are paying purely for the location and, possibly, the fact it was an old historic London building., which was tired and needed refreshing/updating. Shan’t stay again, it will be cheaper to stay further away for lp and take a cab!
.

This place has changed since we came last year as all famous people’s pictures no Longer there as moved near the toilets and most seats to be used for Indian Street Food venue

We were the only couple in the place for afternoon tea at 1pm and another two men in the Indian Street Food seats
Our voucher taken then drinks order taken
Shortly afterwards fizz delivered then cake stand then drinks
The odd thing was the scones dusted with icing sugar

The rest of the food fine except the sun dried tomatoes in the pesto sandwich which was weird

The downside of this visit was the inappropriate music belting out
Obviously meant for the Indian street food crowd as booming and thumping music is not usual for serene cake stands. Is it?
Will we be back. Not on your belly!

after having stayed here over weeks I already felt it was strange that I am not welcomed as a repeat customer, as one would normally be, but now I even got a room where at 11pm there was music pumping through the walls from I don't know where.

I had dinner across the road from the Court House hotel and decided to come over to the Court House hotel for a drink. Worst mistake ever!
at the entrance we were met by a withered man who barely responded.
After navigating our way to the bar, my guest and I ordered two cocktails, one whisky sour and a Amaretto sour.
The cocktails arrived and to my disgust I wish we had gone elsewhere. They looked like pineapple juice. Both drinks were unpalatable.
I asked for them to be changed, what a huge mistake that was, it got worse.
My advice would be not to come here.
The hotel looks like it has seen better days.
On reflection wish I had gone to the nearest pub for a pint.

We went to the cinema in the Courthouse Hotel and we were greeted with a glass of champagne and relaxed in the lounge where you can see the original cells etc
The cinema was comfortable and we enjoyed the film Argo
Afterward we had a meal in the adjoining Street Curry restaurant The staff were friendly and helpful assisting us with our choice of food
The menu is varied and different to the usual Indian restaurant It was very tasty and reasonably priced
We had a very enjoyable evening.

Birthday gift for my daughter and myself.
Spa doesn’t look very promising as it is crammed into a tiny space in the basement and the pool seems a little murky. However the spa staff were very good and it was the best massage I have ever had. Excellent staff working in challenging conditions. Overall I probably would go again.

Come to stay at Courthouse every time I’m in London. Just a short walk away from anywhere central. The rooms are great and so is the service. Breakfast is amazing, with some super friendly staff members, especially Oksana! Thank you for an enjoyable stay once again!
