Dear happyguest2020\nThank you for taking the time to review the Lancaster Gate Hotel, we are constantly striving to improve our customer satisfaction and welcome all feedback.\n\nWe were disappointed to hear that your stay was less than satisfactory and in particular, that you felt you were not offered a high level of customer care.\n\nWith regards to the air conditioning, unfortunately there was a fault which could not be fixed by our in-house maintenance and an external engineer had to be called out. \n\nWe are surprised about your comments regarding breakfast. Our bacon is grilled and scrambled eggs are made from fresh eggs and we offer a wide selection of hot and cold items. We typically receive positive guest feedback for breakfast and I am sorry you were disappointed with it.\n\nWe thank you again for taking the time to review our hotel and corrective action has been taken where necessary. \n.

Dear adrianbennett2, \n\nWe believe you have posted this review to the wrong hotel as we do not have any building works taking place at the front desk or anywhere in the hotel.\n\nAll our rooms have air conditioning and heating, and we do not restrict how much toasts our guests have. We offer a buffet style breakfast and have often received positive comments about the spread, and about ample food being available. \n\nCould you please recheck you have posted this to the correct hotel for the reasons we have said above.\n\nThank you.

The size of the bedrooms do vary due to the historical design of the building and its unfortunate to read that you found the one you stay in to be small and dated. \n\nWe were surprised to read your comments about breakfast as we typically receive positive feedback. Like many hotels we do have a payment procedure in place and we were sorry to read that this made you feel like you were being challenged. \n\nThe hotel does not have security issues but as a caution, signs are displayed at reception kindly reminding guests about not leaving there belongs unattended. \n\nPlease rest assured your comments have been noted and once again thank you for your feedback. \n.

Whilst it was pleasant to read some of your comments, it was disappointing to read your comments regarding the accessibility. \n\nWe do have an accessible room and where possible provisions have been made to assist disabled guests. The possibility of providing a ramp has already been looked into, however unfortunately due to the height of the steps a ramp would be much too steep to use. We are currently investigating other alternatives but as a listed building we have not been successful in obtaining permission to install disabled access. We have made previous applications to our local authority to install disabled access and are currently awaiting the results of another application. I am sorry that it was difficult for your husband to get into the hotel and I can assure you that we are trying to remedy this.\n\nPlease rest assured your comments have been duly noted and once again thank you for providing your feedback.\n.

so glad we ended up booking our weekend in London at Lancaster Gate Hotel! I\u2019ve stayed in the Bayswater area previously and love the location. It\u2019s a five min walk to the tube- so you can move all over the city in 20 minutes and 5 minutes to the lovely Hyde park. We booked the family room and were pleasantly surprised with the decent space (let\u2019s face it- most family rooms barely have room for your bags and the beds) and the size of the bathroom. Our Long weekend was packed with daily activities and each evening we came back to a clean room and fresh towels. We also ate in the hotel restaurant each night (I was so thankful to only have to go downstairs for dinner after walking miles during the day! ). Each night we sampled different items on the menu- from the curry chicken to lasagna to chicken wings to Caesar salads- it was all delicious! The staff was super helpful in getting us a taxi to the airport upon checkout. We have already decided we will be booking with Lancaster Gate Hotel for our next London vaca!

Nice, clean rooms. Hot showers and cable television. Breakfast is good, not great but seating and service is fast and efficient.\nSeems like just 2 elevators so at peak times for example breakfast and checkout times you will wait for an elevator \n5 minutes walk to underground station so getting around London will be no problem.

Stayed at this hotel over Easter and found the hotel was close to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Staff were excellent! It was close to public transport and we were able to get to wherever we wanted to go very easily. \n\nThere is a launderette 5 minutes walk from the hotel which was very useful.\n\nRooms were clean and well serviced and the restaurant served good food at reasonable prices!

I have been staying at the Lancaster Gate Hotel since 1988 I believe it was called the Gresham way back then. This hotel although only 3 stars punches above its wait and the current hotel owners (if memory serves me correct) have been at the helm for the last 4 years in that time I have stayed on my 3 visits to London. The hotel has been refurbished consistently over this time including rooms, common areas and the bar dining rooms. I stay here because this hotel offers value for money by London standards. \nThe hotel is conveniently located near the tube, bus routes and Hyde Park in a pleasant and quiet street. The staff are friendly and professional given the high volume turn over this hotel does. While there is occasionally a wait for breakfast, the food is constantly replenished and the choice is reasonable. Likewise the restaurant and bar offer good choices for an evening meal with pricing reasonable. While the rooms are a little on the small side they are Comfortable and well laid out. We checked out on the Saturday as we were booked into an Airport hotel on Saturday as we had an early Sunday morning flight back to Melbourne. We decided to make the most of our final day in London with Portabello Road so close and the famous market. The hotel gladly stored our luggage for around \u00A31 per piece, which I have no problem with. I continue to choose this hotel as although it is not in the luxury hotel League it represents good honest value and a reasonable level of service.

We were extremely disappointed to hear that you experienced issues with a blocked drain, noise from the neighbouring room and had an uncomfortable sleep due to the pillows. Whilst the location was very good the riim was quite small and the carpet stained and old and hard bed. Staff were not helpful - asked to book a taxi as wanted to pay by credit card but ordered a private car which only took.
