Food at Adams brassiere did not meet my expectations.
The golf experience was excellent, friendly accommodating and approachable staff.
The room was fantastic.
The bed was comfortable, bathroom was a good size with a sink each. The water was not consistently warm in the shower, but that is the only negative there was.
Overall a pleasant stay.

We had a truly awful stay which management made no meaningful effort to rectify.

Room had bad smell. Lots of water damage to ceiling. Figured it was lazy to not redecorate (which this alone is NOT 5 star as they profess) but assumes leak had been resolved. Despite being pretty good sleepers we were woken wise awake at 3a to the sound of constant dripping on the carpet. More than a drip per second. Clearly I’m retrospect the bad smell was mould related to this issue. We tried to put a bucket in place and tried our best for a few hours to get back to sleep. Wishing we’d just stayed at home is not a way to feel for a nice night away. Housekeeping should have noticed the smell and damage - we never should have been in this room the hotel should have known. This is our main issue - sh*t happens but their poor attention to detail should have meant this never happened. The water stain is about 3-4 feet Long - hard to miss!!! We tried to call building maintenance and reception in the am - both rang and rang and rang with no answer.

Checking out was a circus. Everyone seemed to also have (legitimate) complaints and to add insult to injury their card machine was not’t working.

Hotel manager offered us another stay to make up for it. No thank you! If the rest of our stay besides the room was great we would have considered it.

But how else was the stay? Drinks in the lounge before dinner. My partner was served an old fashioned in a tiny thimble. Even a nearby table had a proper glass for the same cocktail. Despite a Long blurb about this particular cocktail it was clearly not prepared by any bartender. Which takes some nerve charging £15+ for cocktails when they aren’t executed well. The food in the Werner was mediocre at best and that’s likely generous. Kitchen was ridiculously slow. It took 1h10 minutes from sitting down to get our first course. The entire meal (mere three courses) was close to three hours. An hour per course. Wine (despite spending £60) was not great - the wine list is very overpriced with my partner noticing some bottles that are around £200 in most restaurants they were charging £350. Food was bad quality. I’d argue in quality of ingredients not necessarily preparation. Everything was rather tasteless - if you are going to put a sauce or a dab of something on a plate - it has to taste something. Chewiest duck I’ve ever had - like eating a boiled shoe. Our favourite course was the cheese, and that’s not saying a lot. Ok’ish cheese board but really needs a better cheddar. Breakfast actually made my stomach turn. Even budget hotels offer to make eggs as you like (scrambled, poached, fried) and they don’t tout themselves as 5 stars. Had to ask 4 times for butter and explain Flora is not butter. Display of food extremely unappealing.

They have a spa - my massage was decent. Really the only positive I can say about the place. There were a couple peacocks wandering around the country club which was nice but the female seemed to have a foot/leg injury and was sadly hopping around on one leg. They are not wild birds so I would have expected a vet to attend and keep these poor animals well.

After must protest and insisting we did not wish to return, the duty manager sonia offered us a meagre 20pc discount. When speaking to another manager on Monday this figure was adjusted to 25. Had we brought our car I would have considered just leaving at 3a when left sleepless. How on earth a meagre discount for a shoddy hotel that has the nerve to charge £400 is sufficient really riles me up. We paid to sleep there and got litre of that due to their mismanagement. All in all we spent about £650 for one night in leaky, shoddy room with terrible meals.

You’d be an absolute fool to give them your money. As one other reviewer stated ‘if you took away the grand house and put this staff and food in another location this place would be shut within a month.’ Too right!!

I booked two rooms plus dinner for a special celebration. I also Invited 10 others for dinner. It was a hassle from the start. They could not take14. It was finally reduced to 10. We were not told that Adam’s Brasserie only had a set menu and it was too difficult and too much trouble for them to cater for one vegetarian and one gluten free guest. The rooms I booked were to be ready for 3pm and the hotel receptionist promised to send the keys to the Country Club where we were staying. It was almost 4pm when we were finally allowed into our rooms only because the housekeeper opened up for us. Full marks for her helpfulness. The rooms were wonderful, large and comfortable with French windows out to a private terrace and then a secure paddock for a dog. The meal at Adam’s Brasserie was a disaster. They had no record of my selections and requirements for each guest. Fortunately I had a copy with me. My grandson had to wait an hour while they cooked something for him, and there was no gluten free bread on the table until we asked. They did give me a discount on the bill but the evening was totally ruined for me and embarrassing for my guests.
For a five star venue there is little customer service. Their staff are poorly trained and most could not care less. I was called Lady instead of Madam and a waiter brought extra butter in his fist and dumped it on the table at breakfast. I will not be going again and I would advise others to have lots of patience and a sense of humour.

If you’re looking for something special, look no further. The rooms are huge and immaculate and the food will blow you away. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and you will leave smiling. Beautiful place and would love to go again.

Had a wonderful two night stay at Luton Hoo for our wedding anniversary. The staff were friendly but courteous, food was outstanding and the room extremely comfortable and clean. We enjoyed walking around the beautiful grounds and had a relaxing time in the spa. Can't wait to find an excuse to come back!

We as a family very much enjoyed our stay. We had a friendly welcome and huge room. We enjoyed the swim times and cycling around the grounds. Dinner was Ana oh my goodness but breakfast a bit disappointing. Quite pricey for us but definitely would recommend but yo can always miss a treatment to make it a bit cheaper. I couldn’t justify the treatment price and didn’t enjoy mine but my partner said his experience was great. Not taking anything away from the overall experience, all the staff were amazingly friendly and polite.

Let me just begin by saying the hotel is beautiful but a very big but I went there for my weeding anniversary and I was so shocked by the afternoon tea as 1. The sandwiches were displayed awfully you could tell someone handled them with their bare hands 2. Tastes awful,no seasoning what to ever 3. I felt so stupid for paying such amount of money for that should of went Nando’s instead and you could tell the staff are not treated well from their faces god knows what goes on behind those doors it’s just disappointing because if you removed the whole building itself from this equation and kept the same staff and food in a different simple venue im telling you this place would shutdown in a month.

the hotel and spa is beautiful, just very sadly lacks management and guidance from a senior member of staff. waited 1 hour for our dinner with no apology, once we brought it to 2 staff members no one had any idea of what to do or say !!!Then we went to the manor house for drinks and had to finally get up and ask to be served. The spa staff on the other hand were full of experience and knowledge. amazing grounds and amazing building, hopefully they will get some management in place to complete this \

It was my wife’s birthday we wanted a nice quiet night away with our two children 13 and 9 and somewhere local in Herts so we didn’t have to travel far. We got that at the Luton Hoo. My son is an excellent county golf player in Herts playing the golf course was an incredible experience. However poor room, checking in mix up and food at the brasserie along with being pestered by wasps made this a polarised experience. Having said all that the location is incredible and very much away from people and roads, being next to Luton Airport would seem a problem but it was not’t we hardly noticed. Yes we would definitely stay again. This place has so much potential.

I wanted a place for bank holiday where I could park the car up and not worry about driving anywhere again until I left. This was exactly that place.

Huge beautiful grounds, perfect for cycling, lovely spa, great food and elegant and fabulous décor in the main house. Terrace open for drinks, and the house main rooms also open 24 hours for drinks.

Definitely recommend coming here. Staff are very attentive and if you cant walk to certain parts of the hotel as they are too far, they have their own Luton hoo complementary London taxi to ferry you about.

Check-in was delayed beyond the guaranteed time of 3pm, despite requesting an early check-in and arriving at 1pm.

Breakfast was complete chaos: The buffet ran out of food, there was a delay in getting our table and the ambience was one of angry guests all complaining.

The room was very expensive considering the service was anything but 5 star.

The only redeeming feature was dinner at the Wernher restaurant which was superb.

I visited on Friday just passed with my Mother who has mobility problems. We hadn't made a booking so knew we may not get a table but thought on the off chance let's try! We were greeted at the door by a lovely gentleman who took my Mothers arm, helped her up the steps and through the house towards the eating area. We met a lovely young lady called Katherine who found us a table which Mum could sit at comfortably. She took her time to make sure Mum felt okay in her chair and even went to the trouble of finding cushions to place behind Mums back to help bring her forward. The tea was lovely and the food was amazing! Afterwards we had a lovely walk around and saw Katherine again who gave us a fascinating talk about the history. I hadn't realised how much history Luton Hoo had. Thank you for a lovely visit!! I'll be back with my husband!

Beautiful hotel with impressive grounds, clean, pleasant uniformed staff. Decor in the rooms is also nice. However, maintenance may be an issue - -bathroom fixtures are old don't work well in some cases, we had to switch a room. many hall way doors - all have to opened manually. many areas are still with old condition, could be updated. Light in the room did not work. Requested the front desk 3 times, but no follow up. Finally someone from bellman desk came and he acted on getting the maintenance to fix issues. Restaurant is beautiful, but service and staff disappointing - no training. All are pleasant but it seems front desk and restaurant staff don't receive much training. Poor service. Hotel chef is abysmal in his understanding of vegetarian/vegan diet. He could not accommodate with simple requests. Breakfast was average. I would not spend any money there for meals.

Another fantastic stay at Luton hoo, the lunch in the main restaurant was perfect. Piers and his team run the restaurant to such a high standard, and the food was superb. Our waitress Sharon was just lovely as we're the ladies who welcomed us at the doors of the restaurant. We had a room in the country club which was large and of a very high standard. It was a real treat to stay in such a nice room. We weren't very keen that breakfast in the brasserie is now a self service buffet but I understand this is just our personal preference. I would also like to say we've been back tonight to the open air cinema and had a pre cinema set meal in the 19th hole. The food was great and the service from a gentleman called Chris could not have been better, made for a very enjoyable night.

We got married in The Walled Garden which whilst on the Estate in a separate business. 15 rooms were booked for family & friends. Collating reservations was painful; guests rooms weren’t ready; lunch took over an hour to be served; an additional charge was made for separate room for privilege of seating together at breakfast; breakfast room not ready! Complaint made; some refund made but despite the beauty of this place it was just embarrassing experience when our guests paid a lot for their rooms! Just grateful didn’t get married there. The Walled Garden could teach them a thing or two on service. Heard lady in hairdressers telling of similar experience...,.,, very disappointing.

We stayed at this magnificent property on Sunday and it seems to get better and better. The staff are always friendly and helpful. We were fortunate to be allocated rooms in the mansion building which is simply stunning.
The extensive grounds are worth walking, and there’s a lot of it!
We played golf too (back 9) and the course is in great condition. Craig the golf Manager is very helpful indeed.
We dined in the bistro as their Werner restaurant closes on Sunday evening but were not disappointed. Food and service excellent.
We look forward to another visit. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our spacious hotel room in the flower garden. The estate was impressively large and wonderful. Dinner at Adam's Brasserie was nothing special, just average while the breakfast was a tad more exciting. Our lunch at the 19th hole was underwhelming. Next time I think I will aim for the Mansion House both for accommodation and dining as Wehrner Restaurant looked impressive. Spa was good but busy.

We have visited Luton Hoo many times to eat and a few times to stay. The accommodation is always good in any of the Mansion, Parkland or Garden rooms. The Werner restaurant is superb but we have learned to stay away from the Brasserie as it's poor value, has poor selection and weaker service. The grounds are well worth a visit and stroll around.

Great location for an intimate wedding. Spa fantastic although there was a breakdown of the revitalisation pool which meant it was too cold to use. Service of staff was faultless although there needed to be more staff to reduce waiting time. Taxi service around the site really handy. Had a n average meal in the brasserie. Didn’t get to try the restaurant on this visit.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Luton Hoo. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable. We walked around the beautiful rock gardens as well. What really stood out to me was how family friendly it was here, with a welcome pack for the children that encouraged them to explore the grounds. We cannot recommend this hotel enough.

What a beautiful hotel and golf course. Approaching the hotel makes you feel like you are part of movie set from old and classy English era.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Absolutely one of the more romantic places to stay. Golf professional manning the pro shop very friendly and helpful. Receptionists as well as main building staff makes you feel extra welcome.
Food could maybe need some more attention, especially in the restaurant at the rose house, but overall excellent experience. Looking forward to visit there again.
