A very comfortable, modern hotel in a fantastic location for enjoying London and easy to reach via Tube. Views from the rooftop bar are great. Rooms are modern, well appointed and well decorated. Breakfast is great.

Booked this hotel for our wedding anniversary for the location, which is only a five minute walk from tower bridge and the Tower of London. Hotel has a small underground parking garage, which is charged at £25 plus vat which the vat bit was not’t mentioned until we checked out and saw it on the bill. Still a good price for parking in London so cannot complain.
Reception staff were very efficient and made sure that they got as many staff out to check people in and out as son as they stood in line. They were very pleasant and informative.
Main lobby has a beautiful glass ceiling and also has a bar area. We used the bar in the savage garden restaurant for cocktails and wine but be prepared for the service charge for every drink they make or pour while you stand at the bar. They don’t do a bar service for the outside rooftop area. Which has amazing views of the city, so you have to go to the bar to get your drinks ( our cocktails were £14 ea) and then they charge you a service charge on top making our drinks over £31 total and our £45 bottle of wine even more expensive, so beware. Didn’t eat in the restaurant but passing the tables the food looked good.
Bedroom was basic, nothing eye opening, the carpet was not the best choice, was a drab brown colour not the best, but clean and a comfortable bed and modern bathroom.
.

I have stayed at this DoubleTree three times and on all three occasions it has been a lovely, relaxing and reliable stay. Upon arriving at the hotel (which may be a little difficult if driving around with no gps as it is in and around a number of hotels) you are welcomed with a nice open check-in area. Depending on the time (which is the case with every hotel) it can be quite busy however there are seats around the check-in area in which you can wait.

The attentiveness of the staff at this DoubleTree was what I would expect from any of the DoubleTree and Hilton hotel groups. The staff was quick to offer me a warm cookie (plenty of them around, very guilty feeling after eating but satisfying) and son after I was able to check-in. The processes was done quickly and smoother and this time being a Silver Honors member, to my delight and surprise I was offered an complimentary upgrade!

The staff behind the check-in said my room (located on the 7th floor) was not ready yet and in fairness I did arrive before the check-in time and was happy for them to hold my bags whilst I potter around London but there was no need due to the complimentary upgrade, now my room was located on the 10th floor.

The room was a Queen Executive, which allowed access to the Executive Lounge via swiping your Room Key Card at the scanner. The room was exactly what you would expect, enough space, nice comfortable bed, large television although there was not much of a view but I expect if you book and choose your room you can get better views.

Overall a nice reliable stay and it is always nice being close to the Thames, the centre of London isn't too far away and there are a number of methods of transpiration than can easily get you in and out.

High quality hotel very near Tower Bridge and tube station.
There are a few famous historic landmarks just around corner and the hotel is at very convenient location for business or leisure.
The hotel also has a rooftop bar where you can enjoy a few refreshments and magnificent view over Tower Bridge.

Really beautiful hotel in an ideal location of two minute walk to Towerhill station
A few bars situated around it for the evening and a lovely sky bar at the top
(Prices circa 20% more expensive than the bar on the ground floor but I get you pay for the view)

King deluxe room booked - was ok, nothing special. Amenities your very basics
Probably won’t pay for the upgrade next time

Bed was incredibly painful as so firm- in fact I dreaded sleeping on it the second night
I’m completely aware this is personal choice and for some people this will be fine, but if you struggle with firm beds this is not the hotel for you.

We stayed at the Doubletree three separate times on a recent visit to England; once on arrival where we met up with friends and family before heading out to the countryside of the southwest for a week, a second time for three nights afterwards for a visit to London sites, and a final time when our flight home to the us was cancelled and we ended up spending a few more nights until we could be rebooked.

Here's the good news. The hotel is modern and clean, quite nice really, if not old-fashioned and luxurious The rooms are small but efficient, lobby generous, and the floors being redone. The location is perfect, just around the corner from the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, London Bridge, and within walking distance of the east end sites. We've been to London many times, and it's an easy town to get around in, so this works for us. The front desk was very friendly and helpful; indeed, at one point I needed to see a doctor and they arranged for one to come to our room. That's great service.

Now the bad news, and there's really very little bad news. If you're a first time visitor to London you may want to stay nearer the West End and those familiar sites, although I might still try to talk you into the east end, which is interesting, easy to get to and from, and cheaper than the West End hotels. This is also an urban hotel, and not one with pools, spas (at least I didn't see one), a selection of different restaurants, or vast gardens to walk in. Not sure about parking, but you're mad to have a car in London anyway.

All in all, I would stay again at this hotel on any future trip. I thought the staff was great and the location ideal.

I am a Hilton member, so I tend to pick the Hilton branded hotels where possible and there are several options in London for Doubletree, but I chose the Tower Hill option for somewhere different. Its a great location. The wife and I came off the train from the airport and Tower Hill station is 100 metres from the front entrance to the Hotel which is perfect. Fenchurch Street Station for the overland track is right next door. Directly behind the station is the Tower of London which is just beautiful first thing in the morning before the tour buses arrive. The hotel is close by to a number of different restaurants and bars if the rooftop bar in the hotel is not enough for you. The room is nice, the bathroom offered a full shower, not one of the bath and shower combinations. The view was not great from where we were, but I didn't choose the hotel to look out of the window from. Breakfast was plentiful and the staff excellent. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I have been in this hotel twice in the last two years and I can say that the quality is consistently good. It is conveniently located beside the tube station and only a short walk from Liverpool street Station (excellent if you are flying in and out of Stansted). Check-in is very quick and efficient, rooms are basic, but clean and quiet: both times I had a great night sleep. Breakfast is equally good, however I could not find any option for lactose intolerant guests. I am sure that some almond or soya milk would make many customers happy.

Dear NickyM680,

Thank you for sharing your Hilton experience with us.

We are pleased to be informed that the location of the hotel was convenient for you and that you ave enjoyed our offerings during breakfast. However, we regret to be informed that you have encountered issues during your check-in and found the roof-top par pricey.

At Hilton we strive to keep our costs slow and provide a high quality service. Please rest assured that your feedback is valuable for us and we will be taking the issues you have highlighted on board.

We hope to have the chance to welcome you back for a more positive Hilton experience.

Kind regards,

Didn’t stay but used the Roof Bar. Service is always good here and the ambiance is just great. Got a table pretty easily and enjoyed a good bottle of wine with views across the city. What more can you need on a midweek evening!

Stayed here with wife while going to Wembley and hotel was excellent. Good transport link and service and staff spot on. The hotel was in a good location only 5 minutes walk from the Tower of London. On checking in you receive a warm cookie which is a nice touch. Room was excellent and breakfast each morning was first class with veg options available. The roof garden bar is very nice with lovely views out to the Tower of London and Tower bridge.

Perfect hotel for our first time in London!

Kids are History mad so it was great to have Tower of London on door step!

Bedrooms are great size and staff extremely friendly, nothing is to much trouble and any questions answered professionally and with great knowledge.

Only fault was check in and check out took Long time and with kids that have just got off a plane and need a nap the process could better.

We stayed a few nights in Aug.
location is perfect for central/east London - easy reach from London City airport and walking distance anywhere in the City/Shoreditch/London Bridge. The underground takes you anywhere easily, Tower Hill and Tower gateway stations are 3mins away.

Rooms are comfortable and ok size - carpets somewhat tired in places but the bed was very comfortable and the room had all amenities (iron, hairdryer, kettle etc). The bathroom was nice and practical. Cleanliness was superb - well done!

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The rooftop bar with a terrace with excellent views over the Tower/Tower Bridge/Shard is such a bonus!

This was my 1st Doubletree stay - this is understandably not quite the 5* Hilton, but the experience was pleasant and reliable. We would stay there again.

. Or maybe not so hidden as it’s on the top floor of the hotel!
I wouldn’t normally have lunch in the City in a hotel but my companion had already visited the Savage Gardens restaurant and knowing his taste for fine food I readily agreed to visit. What a lovely surprise - wonderful views and a really interesting ( not extensive ) menu. We opted for the lunchtime deal which was excellent and amazing value at £18.00 for two courses. Thanks to our server, Manish, who looked after us extremely well. If you’re near Tower Bridge I d highly recommend a visit - you won’t be disappointed.

I stayed here with my family and found the location to be excellent. We enjoyed the nearby attractions (Tower of London and Tower Bridge) and were a short tube ride to the other major attractions in London. Better yet, it is located no lore than 90 second walk to Tower Hill underground entrance. The best part of this hotel is the friendly staff and the amazing view from the rooftop bar/restaurant. The view at night is second to none that I have seen in London as it overlooks the Tower of London and London Tower Bridge. Wow. I could have spent an entire evening up in the rooftop bar just looking out at the views.

I’ll return next year. For sure.

This is a comfortable hotel in a great location. Near Tower Hill underground, Fenchurch Street and Tower Gateway Docklands Light Railway stations. Great location for exploring London.

The lobby is attractive and spacious with a cafééé bar. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are an average size and comfortable with good natural light and good size beds. The room we had didn’t have a bath just a shower.

The hotel has a roof top bar and restaurant which has great views over the city. It is usually busy and sometimes closed for private events. Can be noisy and also pricey.

Thank you for restoring my faith in Hiltons. My family could not have been happier with our room and the service provided. And we will always be staying at your hotel whenever we return. Tony is amazing and was so helpful. Found us a great place to have high tea and helped my mother with cancelling other reservations. The executive floor is a great perk and highly recommend when staying. Well done!
