Stayed at this hotel many times it's a great location not far from the station. It is a bit dated but clean and plenty to choose if you have breakfast. It's about a 10 minute walk to Oxford street Also they will look after you luggage when you check out of your room so you can still look around London if your train is not due untill later in the day.

Location very good, room was terrible, holes in carpet and curtains, bed rock hard, couldn’t roll over without waking partner from the noise it made. Bathroom tiny, tiles loose on floor and toilet dripped constantly. Wi-Fi only in lobby. Won’t be staying there again.

First impressions were very good. Beautiful old victorian building, but sadly it appears that's when it was last updated.
Reception area also looks OK, but as son as they hand you your room key you know things are about to turn.
The key card had the room number written on and was absolutely battered and cut up.
We took the lift up to the third floor and when the door opened there was barely room to step out as the corridor was so narrow.
The walk along the corridor was risky as the carpet was so worn and threadbare through to the boards underneath and was nailed down with exposed nails.
The small twin room we were given (we booked a double) was very dated and in poor condition with threadbare carpets, mismatched wallpaper on the same wall covering who knows what.
The beds were concrete hard.
The bathroom was tiny with poor plumbing and broken and loose tiles on the floor and around the bath.
The TV was a tiny travel sized old CRT which didn't work.
Electrics were probably safe but just looked poor, some switches didn't work and socket wiring was not in the walls it was just in trunking on the wall.
The stay was quite noisy as every floorboard in the building creaked and the small rooms and narrow corridors made everything sound on top of each other.

The hotel bar was closed with a notice stating that the alcohol licence had expired and was in the process of being renewed - pretty poor management.

It's such a shame this could be an amazing place with just a little time and investment made. I think it gets away with no investment purely because of the demand for rooms in London. Anywhere else it wouldn't stay in business.

On the plus side it's in an amazing location.
10mins walk from Paddington station, 10 minutes walk from Lancaster gate on the central line, 10mins walk from Hyde Park.

The hotel has a great location. A very short walk from Paddington Station and Hyde Park. If the weather is nice, Madame Tussauds, Buckingham Palace and Regent Street is only about a 30 minutes walk away. The price was good but the hotel was worn. It is in need of refurbishment.

I have stayed in this area of Bayswater a few times now when attending music festivals in Hyde Park and this was definitely the best one so far. It was clean and had a nice reception area. The staff were very friendly and the rooms were larger than usual in that area. The continental breakfast was also fine. The surrounding area is buzzing with many bars and restaurants and Paddington Station and Hyde Park are a short walk away. I would definitely consider staying at this hotel next time I am in London.

Good staff. That's the only good thing about it - besides the location.

But in general is a old place. The rooms have uncomfortable bed, old furniture, low pressure of the water, and no Wi-Fi (internet only in the lobby). The place is very noisy too - not because of the traffic, but for the fact that each step in other floors can be heard.

The location of this hotel is just perfect, in the West End of London, which is safe and close to all the wonderful sights every tourist could possibly wish to see in London. However, the actual rooms are quite sad. The carpet is quite old, with an odor. The beds are VERY uncomfortable because the mattresses are so old that every spring is felt. We even flipped our mattresses ourselves, thinking it would alleviate the discomfort, but it did not. We folded up the comforters and used them as a form of protection from the mattress springs, but it didn't really do much to help, either.
The bathroom in our room was actually much larger than most, as we saw how narrow and tiny some other bathrooms were, i.e. 3 feet wide. Ours was a full square, but the plumbing was in dire need of updates. The toilet did not flush the paper at all. We used the toilets in the basement near the dining area if we had to leave a solid deposit.
The staff who cleaned the rooms did their very best to leave fresh linens and towels daily, and were phenomenal. I just feel sorry for them for what they had to contend with in their daily efforts to make that poor place look presentable. The lobby always looked quite nice and shined well, but once you got on the lift to go up to your rooms, it just got progressively worse.

.

The location was really good...few minutes from Paddington Station so that was really convenient. The room was also quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing was the WIFI didn’t work in our room. We could only use it in the lobby. Would stay again.

The room was old, carpet was worn, shower was leaking. But the room was clean except the bed cover, I hate bed covers in hotels, please burn those. First night the staff lost our room key. But if you don't spend your time in a hotel room watching television (which didn't work) this hotel is good option. Location is great, just two blocks from underground and the breakfast was good.

Location is perfect, but that is all. Really musty smell, drains stink, beds the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. Furnishing falling apart, dirty bathroom, cracked tiles etc etc. Price only worth it if you have no standards. For an extra £5-£10 you can stay in luxury compared to this place. Avoid.

The ONlY good thing about this hotel is the location and local amenities which are on the door step. The only thing that squeaks louder than the uncomfortable beds is the floor boards. No Wi-Fi in rooms.

We just needed a room for one night. This hotel is in a very convenient location in a quiet street. Beds were more comfortable than they looked and we both slept well. Sheets and towels were clean. The bathroom was quite small but the shower had plenty of hot water.
Continental breakfast was very good, service was fine, coffee was good.
The TV and hairdryer were antiques but that didn't bother us.
We would use this hotel again if travelling through London on a budget.

Bed linen was clean..room very shabby. Ancient TV with only 1 channel watchable. Threadbare carpets..loose floor tiles in very outdated bathroom. Nice view of a wall from window. In a handy location.

The room was very basic and quite shabby. The toilet didn't flush properly, toilet paper just swirled in the bowl... There was an ancient travel CRT TV, which had apparently been dropped some day, as the picture was all greenish in hue. The breakfast was surprisingly good, and the location was awesome. 15 minutes walk to Hyde Park, and 5 minutes to Paddington station.

We only paid £210 for 4 night for 3 of us. so yes you get what you pay for.
The hotel is very dated and a strange set up. But it was clean and the staff couldn’t do anymore for us.
The bathrooms need a severe overhaul but again is was clean. Showers are rubbish and are only warm at certain times during the day.

Toiletries were fabulous. But failed to replace them when used. There fore a 4* for the toiletries.
.

I booked a triple room on Expedia and it looked quite nice - good enough for a 3 night stay. I emailed ahead of time and asked about checking in early as we were flying in on a red eye with a young child. When we arrived the (I assume) manager was very rude to her employee snatching our room key off him and saying we could not check in as the room was not ready, but did not address us. Now to the room itself - basic, basic, basic. Clean but very shabby, took us until the last night to be able to actually get a hot shower. The beds had clean linens but one of them we could not use because you could feel every single spring. The bar was never open, and based on that we never bothered with the restaurant for breakfast - it was easier and cheaper to run over to Pret -a-Manger at the station. On a positive - it is in a great location and easy to get to everything and there is an absolutely amazing Indian restaurant 2 minutes walk away. Next time we go to London we will stay near Heathrow and just do the tube from there at least the airport hotels are more up to date and the staff are more professional.
