Liked: After reading all the reviews, we were braced for a very negative experience here, but to our pleasant surprise, the room was Clean and met our needs adequately. It's true, the bathroom needs some refurbishment (cracked tiles etc.) but the shower was excellent, and again, it was spotlessly clean. The room was cleaned, clean towels etc. The second day. We were on the ground floor, but it was surprisingly quiet. There were plenty of lights, outlets, a comfortable chair, and the bed, while a bit hard for me, suited my partner just fine. The inner door, as noted by others, was held open by an aerosol can, but to be fair, this is a fire door, and by law probably can't be made to stay open on its own. Considering the excellent location, it was not a bad stay at all, though I think it's a bit overpriced for what you actually get.
Disliked: Check-in was a bit of a disaster. I made the booking under my name, and was at a meeting while my partner went to the hotel to check in, but they balked at allowing him to check-in without me there, even though we had prepaid the entire amount. After quite a bit of arguing, and offering to pay the entire tariff all over again, they reluctantly allowed him to check-in. The kitchen woulD have been adequate if it had been more fully equipped, but there was only one plate, no cutlery, nothing to use on the hob (no saucepan, frying pan etc.), no coffee maker etc. They may have brought us something if we had asked, but we made do for our own breakfasts.

The inner door, as noted by others, was held open by an aerosol can, but to be fair, this is a fire door, and by law probably can't be made to stay open on its own. Considering the excellent location, it was not a bad stay at all, though I think it's a bit overpriced for what you actually get.
Disliked: Check-in was a bit of a disaster. I made the booking under my name, and was at a meeting while my partner went to the hotel to check in, but they balked at allowing him to check-in without me there, even though we had prepaid the entire amount. After quite a bit of arguing, and offering to pay the entire tariff all over again, they reluctantly allowed him to check-in. The kitchen woulD have been adequate if it had been more fully equipped, but there was only one plate, no cutlery, nothing to use on the hob (no saucepan, frying pan etc.), no coffee maker etc. They may have brought us something if we had asked, but we made do for our own breakfasts.
