Dear Melissa, \n\nThank you for your feedback! \n\nWe did send you an email on your email address immediately after attending to your complaint. You asked for the hotel manager and Mr. Brian Da Silva responded as the Duty Manager on-site immediately representing the Hotel Manager whom you asked to see after his working hours.\n\nYou might have missed mentioning in your review things which were offered to you via email by the Duty Manager to make you feel that we do care for your stay.\n\n\u2022\tYou checked in on 01/05/2019 in Room 406 by the name of Ms Xuereb staying for 1 night. \n\u2022\tThe booking was made through the website\n\u2022\tYou booked for a standard double room with a rate of \u00A3105.00 inclusive of vat\n\u2022\tYour feedback was that the mattress was hard and so you stripped off the entire bed with the bed sheet, mattress protector, duvet out of the cover, pillowcases out of the cover as well as the pillow protector to inspect the bed linen to which you were not happy of the product.\n\u2022\t We offered you a king room as a free upgrade i. E. \u00A320 worth of revenue\n\u2022\t We also offered them an English Breakfast for 2 people which is \u00A310 worth revenue as an upgrade instead of continental breakfast. \n\u2022\tYou were offered to show 4 more king-size bedrooms which you did not accept and insisted to post a bad review about the hotel. \n\u2022\tYou, however, stated that in previous hotels you have got an entire refund from the hotel on the spot for similar issues. \n\nAs you can see after offering 30% worth of money spent given back as a goodwill gesture in terms of upgraded services. We booked this hotel for a few days from Thursday 21st February - Monday 25th February. Arrived Thursday evening and when checking in there was confusion with the reception staff as to which room had been allocated to us. First we were told rooms on 2nd floor then told people were in these so given a room on the first floor. \n\nWhen I was taken to our room I was shocked to see the corridor outside our room packed with rubbish bags, and loads of renovation equipment. Once in the room the bed was certainly not a double bed as booked and it looked as if there was no window. I noticed there was a large blind so tried to open this to see the window but this was fully broken. \n\nFirst thing in the morning my partner went down to complain about these issues and request a room change. No surprise we were told there would be an additional charge even though and there was no explanation or apology for the awful conditions of the corridor and problems inside the room. After a lengthy discussion we finally were given another room but told we would have to wait until 5! \n\nAgain after continuously stating the issues and no concern or acknowledgement from the reception we finally got to the new room which we thought was fine.\n\nWhen showering the amount of water leaking out in to the bathroom was ridiculous. Another problem encountered.\n\nThen Saturday night after a great day in central London we arrived back at the hotel around 12:30 ready for bed. At 2pm the fire alarm goes off and we get out the room as son as possible. However the rooms are situated in such a way that it is a maze to get out of where you are and there are no clear signs which can take time to get to reception. We rushed out the room and out of the nearest fire exit along with a few others ( obviously very panicked). This led us to a car park and we all walked around to the front of the hotel which had been locked.\n\nThe most frustrating thing about this was that we were all locked outside there were so many people panicking inside reception locked inside. And there was only one member of staff! \n\nShe did not communicate with anybody there to inform us what was going on. We were stood outside for over 15 minutes in nightwear, one of the guys has no shoes on. Then we were let back in again no apology communication or anything! Everybody was just left to figure out what to do next and whether this was a genuine fire or not. There was then a huge queue to get room keys as majority of people had left the room keys inside the room as they had ran out, which took another 30 minutes.\n\nAll customers asked the receptionist are you alone, this is unacceptable and received no response whatsoever. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in such a crucial situation.\n\nPlease see uploaded pictures to appreciate the absolute awful time we had with this hotel and all the problems we continuously encountered.\n\nIt was clear there was no training, no procedures in regards to the fire alarm and absolutely no acknowledgement or support.\n\nI definitely do not recommend booking this hotel as there are major improvements that need to be made both through staff training, procedures and general customer service. Even when we checked out there was no courtesy from the receptionist to ask how the stay was and to be honest I was not prepared to explain everything again to be ignored.\n\nI will making a formal complaint and requesting a full refund.

Room was filthy, window looked out ono a wall covered in bird excrement. And staff were extremely rude and not willing to sort out the problems and couldn\u2019t speak English. When reported to the manager I was abused and shouted at. Never again !

Secondly, have you tried to contact the reception after you found out the issues with your room. We have 24/7 reception to help you with your needs and requests which you may have and we could have moved your room in no time once you addressed this problem while you were staying with us.
