Dear Jamie,\nThank you so much for choosing The May Fair to celebrate your husbands birthday and pleased that you were reallocated a different room which suited you better.\nWith regards to our choice of bathroom amenities, REN products are cruelty free,sustainable and suitable for vegans, we have had many lovely comments from our guests regarding our choice Refillable containers are also part of our green initiative as we are not using little plastic bottles which are not always recyclable!\nI do hope that you will come back and stay with us again in the future.\nKind regards,\nBotho Stein\nGeneral Manager.

Was looking forward to this stay as we had heard so much about the Mayfair over the years. Room on the first overnight stay in July was good, bed was comfortable staff are good but having loud drunks wandering the hallways at night is not so good. Our second stay was in August before heading to Southampton. The room on this occasion was smaller than the first stay and the bed was not as comfortable. Now we are not prudish in any way but having a sex pack in the fridge coupled with a vibrator is not a good advertisement for any establishment.

I was disappointed in my stay, some the staff had trouble understanding English. I stayed for one night and I was disturbed in my room twice by different staff who could not understand English and couldn't describe what it was they were knocking for. Woukdnt expect this from a 5 star hotel. Check in could have been faster also. Check out was fine though.

The hotel is outdated. The rooms and hall ways are in need of renovation. We stayed in a family suite and it had moldy smell, the aging carpet, poor water pressure and non working shower drain and poor ventilation system. But the staff is nice and breakfast is good.
