I expected a lot from this hotel based on the reviews and the high price tag. Very disappointed! The room itself was shabby, broken glass in the hanging picture on the wall and the lounger by the window appeared to have a huge wet patch ( as if someone had an accident before checking out ) Very hard beds I was given a twin instead of the requested double. I should have booked the holiday inn at half the price, I know for next time. You don’t always get what you pay for.

The room we stayed in was a superior room and was comfortable and well appointed although we realised too late there was only 1 towel in the bathroom and the room could do with a deep clean and dust. The view which was meant to be runway was more car park.
We ate in the collage restaurant, the only one open, and it was terrible. Really terrible. The food arrived before the drinks, which were tepid. The mains arrived before we were even half through starters and then returned to us barely warm and very underwhelming. We didn’t try the breakfast. On the plus side it is 2 minutes from the terminal building and if you book far enough in advance you can get a reasonable price.

The Radisson hotel is conveniently located via a walkway from the airport. Our flight arrived to late to connect to our destination, so this was the best solution for us. Comfortable room and bar/restaurant Polite service but sadly the food was really, really average. Surely the Radisson can do better than that!

We had 3 rooms booked, the first was fine the second was occupied full of people’s personal belongings the third was unmade with bed linen, towels and rubbish strewn about, we arrived about 20.30 pm 5 hours after check in surely it's not much to expect your room ready ?
The worrying thing is we were given keys to an already occupied room, what about security and safety of people’s belongings
We were made to feel like it was our fault.

Massive slow queue at check in, bar closed when I went at 11:30. But it was clean, tidy and a good breakfast. No biscuits in the room, but tea and coffee was ok. WiFi was fine why do I need to think of things to say to get to 200 words.

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves to an extra night's holiday at the Raddison Blu as we had an early flight the next day. We have done this on other occasions at Gatwick and Heathrow and had a great time in luxurious comfort. We were hoping for the same at this hotel but were sadly mistaken. Our arrival was the first nightmare - a huge queue to check in and only a couple of people on the reception desks - took us around 20 minutes. I had read that I could park on site at the hotel for £12 a night and we thought this was a good deal - we only find out on arrival that £12 is the first night and then £33 thereafter! We were forced to then use the alternative which is to leave the keys with the possibility they will have to move the car offsite which is what they did - goodness knows where and how far away but suffice to say whoever drove it altered the seat distance (fair enough) lumbar support, headrest, radio station and the fans on the air conditioning! The meal in the restaurant was expensive and very bland. The bar was floor to ceiling in dirty glasses as it seemed the dishwasher was broken - hardly an inviting venue. There was one soft seat in the room which was so close to the ground it was almost impossible to get up from and it was not comfortable to sit in. The safe box was in a drawer in the room which did not properly open so was very difficult to use. The bed was reasonably comfortable but all in all the room was pretty basic. Would definitely not use this hotel again - very disappointed.

We have not stayed here before, and more than likely won’t stay again. Check in was very slow and disorganised. We had booked a room with car parking, we followed the instructions (in our booking letter) but oh no, we had parked in the wrong area, where else was there to park, no where, it must have taken is at least 30 minutes to check in. Our room is most odd, the bed is on the angle with no bedside shelf/cupboard on one side. Over large furniture and a most strange piece of wooden artwork. What a waste of space. Yet again a double room for 2 people has only one semi comfortable chair. I’m afraid this hotel could learn a lot from the Premier Inn hotel chain.

Not great for a Raddison. We had to stay a night here due to flight schedules. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, television didn’t work at all. The restaurants were very busy, we were lucky we ate early and got a table. Very basic indeed, the food was poor. Breakfast was a little better. Ok for a night.

Couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone before visit, infuriating. Couldn't get an answer from room service. Surly greeting at check in. No mini-bar or drinking water in room. There were cleanliness issues in bathroom although bed was clean and comfortable. Fabulous lobby where all effort seemed to be concentrated. Good breakfast.

Only a short stay for an early flight next morning. Stayed here a few times before under similar circumstances. Very convenient for walking to terminal. Room upgrade (paid for) was worth it. Restaurant menu very good. Service in restaurant excellent. Check in time could be better.

The only positive was the bed - comfortable. We stay in a lot of hotels and I can confidently say that this hotel needs head office support. Your Tripadvisor is crawling with negative reviews yet you appear to do nothing to correct this. We booked based on the strength of your wine tower and wine angels - this is false advertising as your staff informed us that it’s not been operational for at least six months. Why haven’t you updated your website?! We chose (despite the terrible reviews) to eat at Station 169 - the wine was poured as a taster and we said it was lovely. It was then placed on the table for us to pour the first drink ourselves with the cork put back in. Then our steaks arrived - one was great, the other was cold and the wrong steak. The creamed cabbage was just overboiled cold cabbage, the jacket potato was cold and the onion rings were missing. To top it off, we watched the chef (open kitchen) eat from the grill - unbelievable! Your manager was understanding and corrected the bill - but he needs a chef who cares and trained staff out front. We then went to drink at the Wine Tower - we had to wait for ten minutes whilst the barman went to collect wine glasses and wash them up because they’d run out. There were less than 20 people scattered around at most. Your prices are not in line with what you deliver - it’s a poor experience, with little to no management behind it. Your hotel is lazy. Do better.

In terms of location for those using the airport, this hotel is ideal. It’s directly next to the terminal and railway station, a five minute (or less) walk to departure check-in, and apart from a few yards, all under cover. It’s a spacious and smart hotel. We had a standard room, well-appointed and comfortable. Housekeeping is ok, rather than excellent, and empty bottles and glasses left outside rooms from one afternoon to the next morning is a poor show. Self-service breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of quality fresh foods – even a separate section for gluten free. We had dinner in the Collage restaurant, and it was fairly good, though pricey for what it offered. But choices are really limited at the airport, and so the hotels have something of a monopoly if you want to dine on-site.

Our one-night stay was not’t without hitches, one of which concerned a very poor level of customer service. It was a simple request for extra milk for our room (and I see that another review has recently flagged this up), which was never met, and which, on our third attempt to request it, was met with total rudeness. That said, when we reported this to Reception, and later to the hotel manager, our complaint was taken seriously, and we were impressed with the professionalism and response, with appropriate apologies offered.

Room was good, good location but the food should be absolutely avoided! The meal I ordered was over priced and terrible quality, I couldn’t eat it! I was given a small discount and so the five chips I ate represent one of the most expensive meals I have ever had. I guess they know their customer base is ‘just passing’ through and not worth the effort. My recommendation is to eat in the airport and avoid an expensive, disappointing experience.

We stay here as a matter of convenience for early flights (we only live 30 minutes away) However this hotel doesn’t always live up to its reputation. Tonight (as usual) check in was extremely slow. When I got to the bar, once again the service was poor with the bar lady trying to serve me before two other people and 1 lady changing the until rolls in the card machines without even apologising. The 169 restaurant only had one chef and we had to move to the other restaurant in the corner. It’s the little things that count when you are paying a Premium price for a transit hotel and it’s not happening at the moment. Even little things like the air freshener to the entrance of the 169 hadn’t been topped up, neither had the iced water. This is not some cheap hotel. Customers are being taken for granted and I’m sorry but the Stansted hotel isn’t living up to the Radisson branding. If you want a lesson in how to run a premium hotel, take a look at Oslo central, now that’s what it should be like. Quality and service with a smile! The good thing about this hotel is you can always get a good night’s rest. The beds are delightful.come on guys, sort out these minor issues!

Refurbishment in progress during our last visit now completed, sadly the wine angels are no more☹️. Room booked was not as specified but an alternative was found without too much drama just a lot of trips up and down. Staff friendly, accommodating and efficient. Car parking service during our vacation was as efficient as always. We flew too early for breakfast so cannot comment on that. Evening meal was good. Would have been 5* but for glitch with booked room availability. Refund of difference has been arranged since, again efficiently, with added points on Radisson loyalty card as compensation. I would recommend this hotel.

A excellent stay at the hotel. It is expensive but worth it if you can get parking as part of the deal when booking in advance. One piece of advice, the meals and drinks are very expensive. If arriving by car, it is worth arriving mid afternoon because evenings can be a nightmare to park.

It was just what I needed for a quick get away to the airport. The parking was easy once you worked out where you could park. Check in was efficient. Bar area was well laid out and clean but cold from over air conditioning. The corridors to the rooms have stained and worn carpet but the rooms themselves were excellent. The beds are very comfortable so a very good nights sleep. 5 minute walk to check in at the airport. The car return was very smooth and easy and quick get away.

Hotel accommodation and general appearance was excellent. Only issues we encountered involved the bar area. Service was haphazard with waiters/ waitresses friendly and intent on doing well but looked a bit overwhelmed by what, I imagine, were fair predictable rushes of people for drinks / meals. For example. Were served a bottle of wine. But no glasses as the bar had apparently run out. And we ended by getting them ourselves from the bar. Food okay but expensive.

Excellent first time experience at the hotel and it is stunning inside. The rooms are large, clean and are very well appointed, we stayed for 3 nights and the location of this hotel is really ideal for any short or Long term traveller, family or couples. Only a 3 minute walk from Stansted Airport and most of this under cover, makes this an ideal hotel for visiting London and the surrounding areas. The staff were all excellent, even though at times you could see they were under pressure, they still managed to smile and assist fully. The restaurants are surely the best, it was amazing to watch the chef in 169 the steak restaurant work, this guy was amazing and the food was incredible. The breakfast and lunch area of the hotel offers an amazing array of food, so you won't be disappointed here as well.

Excellent, comfortable room, quiet with great shower and air con set at just the right temperature. I had a great nights sleep and enjoyed staying in this stylish hotel just 10 minutes easy walk from the airport. Great buffet breakfast was included in our room rate.
Down side - the restaurants were expensive. We had decent service at 7pm but people arriving after this seemed to have to wait quite a while for their food. Service charge (10%) was automatically added to the bill and then there was a space for gratuity. We asked for the service charge to be removed which it was.

Really comfortable night. Hotel room was clean as a whistle and the bed was well comfortable. Great location too, terrific breakfast with a great choice, Bar in the evening was under staffed but maybe we were just there at busy time.

review: I stayed at the Stansted SAS travelling through London in July and again in August. Its an outstanding sanctuary after putting up with the stress and pace of air travel. Once inside the door of the hotel, you feel all the rush of the day leave. The rooms are outstanding, services are THE best. I wish I lived closer because I would go there muh more often just for some relaxation. This place is well worth the stay, I can promise you this.
