You certainly should have been escorted to you room and introduced to the hotel, thus avoiding the misunderstanding with your room and location. Our team pride themselves on their friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness, so please rest assured that I have addressed this urgently with my Guest Relations management team. \n\nI am sorry to learn that you found the rooms and our public areas lackluster with limited space to immerse yourself in. We are currently going through the final planning stages of a room refurbishment program through the end of 2019 and 2020 to lift our room product once again. Last year we stayed in Citadines which is right opposite to Rosewood and it was appalling. We have been saying that next time must try Rosewood. \n\nHere we are this year and we got a good deal from a local travel agent. The package was inclusive of breakfast (restricted to full English breakfast, so good enough). \n\nWe arrived at Heathrow early in the morning, took Heathrow express and then black cab to Rosewood which was just 10-15 minutes away. \n\nSurprisingly and of course luckily, we waited for less than an hour and got our room by 11am. \n\nlocation wise - awesome, Holborn station is just around the corner with numerous bus routes around\nRoom - excellent and both of us had good night sleep \nHotel interior - superb, we love every single detail of the hotel decor \nStaff - friendly and helpful \n\nWe will definitely return to Rosewood next time in London. Look forward to our next visit to other Rosewood hotels too! \n\nCan\u2019t go wrong with Rosewood. What are you waiting for?

many years ago when this hotel was under Marriott\u2019s ownership the hotel & spa were stunning, it was an escape from the busy streets outside. On my return about 10 years later it is a different hotel. \n\nThe lobby has lost its character & charm as it\u2019s been made smaller & the grand staircase removed from view. First impressions I was disappointed. I was now not sure what to expect from the spa. \n\nAs I walked in it was as if I had never been away. The service had changed of course on the way they did things but they had not changed it one bit. The smell in my treatment room was not great as you could smell the kitchens/loading bay rubbish but everything else was great. I will be returning for this reason only.

The Manor style was beautiful and really interesting as you would expect from a Rosewood. \n\nAlthough the staff profile, service and overall quality was varied. some were excellent and others didn\u2019t seem to be trained very well. I\u2019m not formal but if I\u2019m in a five star hotel and in the elevator with a member of staff (this happened twice) they should not walk past me to leave. This \u2018after you\u2019 type of etiquette is usually a standard. \n\nI also had a mix up with my booking they had only booked me in for 1 night, I felt this was not\u2019t handled particularly well by the lady that dealt with it on reception. Not really apologetic in anyway. \n\nThe afternoon tea looked good the cakes were lovely and the lemon curd was outstanding. The sandwiches were stodgier than usual bread wise and dry (see MO Hyde Park) my tea was also not replenished either which is not great. \n\nBreakfast was very average in the Holborn dining room, same breakfast in the room the next day was perfect! \n\nThe room decor was strange a bit too much \u2018blank space\u2019 from the bed view considering the touches around the building were so considered and elevated.\n\nOverall the location and common parts are truly special, merely the service standards and food offerings are not consistent. \n.

Arrived to this hotel and it is a beautiful stately old Insurance building turned into hotel. Staff were lovely and reception informed us we had an upgrade. Room 447. Room was outstanding. Great bed pillows and Linen. Bathroom had lovely amenities but for elder people I felt there would be a problem getting into shower as it is over the bath. It has a safety holder but I would be worried about an elder person slipping just the same. We also had a view out over courtyard. Was disappointed that flowers were fake down there however. Bars were good and I fell in love with a gin from Spain. My only concern was the food and wine in one of the restaurants was terribly expensive and I was disappointed in my meal. For this Aussie that was the only blip. Well that and Donald Trump visiting and shutting down all of the important roads.

I will admit my first experience with The Rosewood was not a positive one. I will blame it on the extreme London holiday rush. After reporting the details of that stay, the Rosewood staff went out of the way to contact me and ask me to give them another chance. After my first experience, never in a million years did I think I would be back at the Rosewood but this May, as luck would have it, a trip to Paris would route us through London and the Rosewood's excellent manager Manuela personally arranged a second chance for us to re-experience the hotel and we are now so glad that we were able to.\n\nThis time around, we were able to see why so many positive reviews (and awards) are granted to The Rosewood London. We felt like valued customers and given true 5-star service by the staff. Manuela was the star of the show, making sure every detail was looked after this time and greeting us in the lobby with a warm smile when we checked in. She even provided us with several great recommendations on places to visit on our next stop. Paris. Nothing was overlooked in making sure we felt welcome at the Rosewood this time, which is exactly what we expected from a 5 star hotel experience in London.\n\nIgor, the valet, was fantastic and welcoming. The front desk agent (I forget his name) who showed us to our room was professional and thorough in explaining the features of our room. Our room was upgraded to a fantastic junior suite with a rainfall shower, soaking bathtub and plenty of storage space. At night, a tart and berries was delivered to our room with a note from the hotel's gm, Michael, welcoming us. Which was a nice touch.\n\nThis time, all the other touches we missed during our last stay became apparent. Candy in bowls in the lobby and hallways. Little birds in a cage on the back stairs who chirped and sang each time we passed them on our way out. And the wonderful smell of night blooming jasmine coming from vines near the elevators. A true 5-star experience awaited us this time and the hotel was spotless and clean.\n\nWe would absolutely return to The Rosewood after seeing what the experience is supposed to be like. And when we do, we will be booking the same category of junior suite we were given this time because it was so comfortable and spacious. Now we see that a suite is worth the extra splurge, even with a busy schedule.\n\nA big thank you to the staff who went out of their way to ensure that our Rosewood experience did not end on a bad note after our last stay. Manuela is a great ambassador of the brand and even convinced us to stop at the Rosewood property in Paris during our trip, which turned out to be one of the best bars we encountered on our trip to Paris!
