Due to flight cancellation we were put into this hotel. No window in 1 room and bar on window in 2nd room. No water available as they had no glasses. Carpet stinking. I had to put myself and 3 teenagers in the 1 room. Ran out of this hotel. Nightmare. Would not recommend.

We used Russ Hill Hotels stay and park service for our holiday of the week commencing 10th August 2019.\nThe hotel is ok, extremely uncomfortable beds but other than that it's ok! \nWhen we returned to collect our car a week later, it had been vandalised but worst still the hotel staff monitoring the car park had not even noticed! \nThe car had over \u00A31500 worth of damage to it and Russ Hill refused to even refund our \u00A3140 stay as a good will gesture.

I stayed at this hotel on a weekend break, as part of a coach tour group. Personally the only problem that I experienced was that the television did not receive Itv channels. My room was clean and airy. There was enough storage space for my clothes and the bathroom was clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Yes the car park was full of cars but it is an airport hotel where you can park your car whilst away on holiday! The food was basic English, but I had no difficulty finding something that I could eat. I found all the staff to be friendly, and courteous. I was surprised how quiet the hotel was considering its close proximity to the Gatwick Runway.

Spend your money elsewhere and enjoy your stay at a nice hotel than stay here. If it was a grand house in its past its not now and the acres of grounds it's set in are covered in vehicles. The hotel is very dated, badly ventilated I would imagine difficult to keep clean as everything's worn out. The garden lounge has no garden or access to the outside, the bar man laughed when I said that and agreed there's no garden and it's no lounge. The food not great, needed a knife and fork to break up the rice that had been moulded by the dish it came in and at tad expensive for the quality. The rooms are small, the furniture fit for the bonfire but, I think, clean though by then I didn't want to start looking. some staff ok, some not. Taxi company, Evo, that run you to airport and back were very good.

Stayed here in business! It was a clean comfortable bed. The rest of the room and for that matter The rest of the hotel left a lot to be desired! The mirror on the desk had thick dust and therefore hadn\u2019t been cleaned for months. Other surfaces were similar. The curtains also had a thick coat of dust. The bathroom was incredibly dated with old cracked tiles. \n\nPublic areas again lack lustre and dusty. My colleague and I sat in one of the public areas to do some work. I moved a chair to find a load of rubbish beneath it. Food is very very very basic hence it\u2019s cheap price tag. \n\nThe staff unfortunately are unengaged and disinterested and down right rude!

If your expecting the Ritz don\u2019t stay here! If, like us, it was a bed for a night with airport parking it\u2019s absolutely fine. Yes the rooms are small, but it has a nice bathroom with bath and shower. There was no odour that we noticed, as mentioned in other reviews. Yes there is a Long walk to the room which might be difficult for anyone with a disability. The staff seemed polite to me, and we really had no issues at all. best of all you can take your car keys with you, so no danger of your car being used or moved, and can just go once you\u2019ve returned to your car after your holiday. Taxi worked brilliantly and was \u00A39 each way.

On a recent visit to Orlando, I stood in the immigration line with a young couple who had stayed overnight at the Russ Hill. From our conversation, I discovered that nothing had changed in 14 years! We stayed there 14 years ago. A never to be repeated experience. First impression was not good. On arrival, it was like Fawlty Towers, the reception staff were having an argument and the customers just had to wait until they had finished! When they did eventually attend to us, it was grudgingly and rudely. A Long walk to our room - the room was dark, right out of the 1950's with its d\u00E9cor and the lighting was totally inadequate. We couldn't reach the high window to open it. The television was antique and the remote was stuck together with Sellotape. The kettle took ages to boil. The shower, well, you had to run round in it to get wet. I had to lay on my back the whole night because my mattress had a deep well in it, so much so that I had to be hauled out of bed in the morning. We left too early for breakfast, but no alternative was offered. Never again - please do not put yourselves through this!

The worst hotel I\u2019ve ever stayed in. We left our car here for two weeks on the 12th July, all was ok. We were staying at the hotel after our holiday as we arrived early hours Saturday 27th. \n\nWe arrived at the hotel around 5 am on Saturday 27th obviously very tired. Went to the reception desk and the man was so rude. He was already dealing with someone, and I came to the desk and he looked at me as if to say yes what do you want, I said I have a reservation, his response was \u2018 for when ? I said now, he said oh well I\u2019m not sure il need to have a look, as it\u2019s so late I\u2019m not sure, he then carried on dealing with the other person who I also felt sorry for, they asked for a late check out he was like nope, nope so rudely.\n\nI then got my key, I had to walk down the most narrow, Long corridor with stairs here and there with two massive suit cases and a small one. It was a night mare \n\nGot to the room, which is called a double executive, this room was tiny, with a small double bed, the mattress springs were broken, our cases just fit int he took but I couldn\u2019t go round the side of the bed I had to Climb. Across bed to get to other side, it was ridiculous. But we was so tired we just got on with it and left the next day. I would recommend nobody books this hotel.

Great for cheap airport parking, \u00A39 cab to the airport door booked at front desk, (cheaper than Uber.) Had a family room which was v big but some of the rooms looked tiny. Dated, no attention to detail, chest of drawers with handles missing and screws exposed, bed double and old. Having said that I had a great nights sleep and no airport noise! Breakfast good, all you can eat buffet, sausages a bit cheap thou! But for the price I paid the hotel was good value for money.

Worst hotel stop over me and my girlfriend have every experienced, rooms are like a hot prison cell, which only have a barely working fan in. Food was not\u2019t great, drinks were even worse (flat). When complaining to the manager he clearly didn\u2019t care, acting as if it\u2019s not anything to do with him. It then made matters worse when leaving the hotel the manager nearly crashed into our car.\n and didn\u2019t even apologise. Him and two other members of his staff were laughing about it, he literally breathes arrogance and doesn\u2019t have people skills. Would not ever recommend staying here to anyone I know.

We stayed here as a family of 5 before an early flight from Gatwick the next morning. \n\nThe hotel is very basic, the rooms have a desk fan as air conditioning but no opening windows so it was stiflingly hot to sleep. We had a room with a double bed and 4 bunk beds, only two plugs which when you have 5 mobile phones that require charging is a challenge. It does have a small tea making area which was actually quite useful when you are up at 4am. \n\nThe restaurant is more of a canteen and the bar has no access to the outside so again was stifling hot and we only went in there when the sun had set outside. I can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there but from what we saw it was fairly basic. Drinks were fine, an okay selection but the bar staff were very helpful and polite. As was one of the steward that guided people to where they needed to be. \n\nWe used the hotel taxi service to Gatwick which was \u00A313 and a company called evo. I would however suggest you don't use them to get back as they sent two cars in a row for 4 people despite being told twice that there was 5 of us! \n\nThe most useful element of this hotel is the car parking. You can 8 or 15 nights included in the stay which works out a lot cheaper that parking at Gatwick, even in the Long stay.\n\nGenerally I would use this hotel again if I was taking the children just because its so cheap including the parking and allows us to all be in one a room but if it was just me and my husband, I wouldn't come here.

I arrived late in the evening and was greeted by a man directing us while parking and he was extremely rude, the front desk was no better.\nAs for the \u2018room\u2019 there was no way to open a window and was a complete sweat box. I had to lay there with wet towels all over me in an attempt to get cool enough to attempt to have more than two hours sleep. \nI didn\u2019t stay because I was travelling I was instead staying because of a local golf tournament therefore didn\u2019t even use the only good thing about the place which is parking in there tight and unorganised car park.\n. I travel weekly and this is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a review to simply warn people of how poor this hotel is.

we stayed here night before we went on holiday so got parking with hotel & when we got to our room if you can call it a room more like a prison cell & no window even prisoners get a window it just had a skylight & was so hot stuffy worst night sleep we have had, the seats in the bar were dirty with stains on them could do with a good clean, didn't think much of the restaurant. Got picked up by taxi & then shared with another couple still took \u00A3 9.00 off both of us, only good point is that we had parking while away on holiday, we will not be staying here again.

Despite placing the Do not disturb sign on our door handle. We were woken Sunday morning at 8 am by someone (Housekeeping) banging on the door and then entering and again at 830 am another member of staff didn\u2019t even knock this time and just entered ! Hot stuffy rooms it was unbearable. We had no where to park either on our return from a wedding we\u2019d been too so at midnight we had to wait for a member of staff to open up a barrier to allow us to park. Customer service was none existent.

When I booked this hotel I was expecting it to be a bit closer to Gatwick, the road between Gatwick and the hotel isn\u2019t great as it\u2019s really narrow and it can be quite dangerous due to the tight poorly lit narrow bends. \n\nOn arrival we were greeted by a male receptionist who gave us our room key and noted our return date for picking up our car. I was then told to follow one of their staff to a parking space. The receptionist was friendly and quite helpful but the staff member who directed us to our parking space came across as quite rude and stroppy.\n\nWhen I entered our room I was disappointed to find there were no windows, instead just an overhead skylight. When we made the booking it didn\u2019t state the room was windowless which most other hotels make sure to state. The bed was terribly uncomfortable, we only had 5 hours until we were needing to be up again for our flight and I spent most of that time trying to make myself comfortable so I could get some sleep.\n\nWe booked our taxi through the hotel for \u00A39 each way. The taxi advert states they accept debit/credit cards which was useful, on the way to Gatwick we had no issues but coming back the driver claimed he didn\u2019t accept card payments so we had to pay him cash, when we passed him the cash at the boot whilst we were getting our luggage out, the driver headed back inside the car where we expected him to provide our change but instead he just drove off. If we were wanting to give a tip we would say, what he did was basically theft. \n\nThe only positives I can say about the hotel are they allowed us to keep our car keys and for 1 nights accommodation and 14 days parking the price was not\u2019t too bad.

We were booked in Britannia\u2019s Europa Gatwick hotel but do to a problem at the hotel we were informed the day before that we were to use their sister hotel, The Russ Hill. \nInstead of being south of Gatwick Airport, we were to the north of Gatwick. Barely any difference in mileage to get to Gatwick Airport. On arrival we found a car space and parked up. There is lots of parking bays but most were being used. On checking in, we found the staff very pleasant and allocated our room. The room is small, clean and basic but we only wanted to use it to allow us to have a few hours sleep before our very early departure to the airport. The bar area was bright and clean and comfortable. The carvery restaurant was busy, although we did\u2019nt eat there, we were allowed in to view the food on offer. It looked rather good. Finally, our taxi, booked by the hotel receptionist was only \u00A39 and took about 15-20 minutes to get us to the airport. We will use this hotel again.

Five fans in one room and it\u2019s still infernal in there, absolute liberty, don\u2019t come to this place it needed to go when the soviets did, I\u2019m shocked I have to waste 200 words to describe, respect to all you fellow survivors #MeToo\nI came I saw I got Meningitis.

I read several really bad reviews about this hotel but for the price it was worth a punt.\nI paid \u00A378 for 1 nights stay and 8 days parking, this included evening meal for 4 as well as breakfast too. Even if I was sleeping in my car and getting this I would think its a good deal.\nThe hotel is much more comfortable than my car. \nWe had a family room, this was made up of a double and 2 singles. The beds were nice and firm, just as I like it. I know we're all different. \nThere is complementary tea and coffee in the room, a fan and extra bedding in the wardrobe and basic shower gel/shampoo and soap.\nYou get 30 minutes free WiFi in the lobby or if your lucky like us and have a room just behind reception. You need to reconnect every 30 minutes, but it's better than paying ;-)\nThe food was great, it's a 3 course carvery on an evening and breakfast in the morning. Basic but what more do you want for the price, your looking at \u00A340 just for evening meal in our local Toby Carvery. Considering I also had 8 days parking to, that just added to the value. \nAll in all, its bang on for this Yorkshire lad. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it to anyone.
