Dear EllyTexas,\n\nThank you for your feedback. We are glad our staff helped you with your luggage storage and you were happy with this part of our service. We respect all our customers, either they are hotel guests or Stasher customers and we generally offer services when we can. Transfers is not our main service, in fact we have a list of local minicab companies that we ring when needed and we quote our guests whatever they quote; if the minicab company quoted £32GBP and executive car we have no reason to doubt or alter that. We understand your frustration but we feel you are blaming the wrong person.\n\nWe make sure we train our staff to be as helpful as possible, and according to other reviews on here we are receiving good feedback. Nevertheless, we do apologise we were not able to offer you what you were expecting and we hope to see you again some time.\n\nRegards\nShakespeare Hotel.

Dear Ebrahim,\n\nThank you for sharing your experience on here, your feedback is welcome and will be used for further improvements on the way we operate. We do apologise for the poor service you felt you experienced while staying here, normally our staff is willing to do the extra mile for our guests, we have received several very good comments about them and it is surprising and disappointing to read your words. With regards to housekeeping we are keen to maintain very high standards and I am kindly asking you to share more detail with us by emailing at: customer-service@shakespearehotel.co.uk in order to investigate and rectify what went wrong. Unfortunately we do not have air-conditioning and we make sure we publish correct information online; we do have fans available at reception though.\nWe would love to welcome you again at the Shakespeare and we are looking forward to receiving your comments.\n\nKind Regards.

Dear TheTravellingTechie,\n\nThank you for your feedback. I want to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the students staying in the hotel during your stay. We want our guests to enjoy a good night's sleep and we generally manage to keep noise levels low even when with groups in the house. It is disheartening to read your comments about apathy or no action taken or unapologetic attitude. I have personally spoken to our staff and I have been informed that our night receptionist spoke to the group leader in front of you right at the time you complained. Furthermore, during your check out after the second night spent in the hotel you wouldn't listen tour morning staff's apologies or attempt to offer you a solution. Your 1 star rating is at least unfair for a hotel like the Shakespeare, especially when judged exclusively based on a factor like noise caused by other guests. Should you have given us an opportunity we would have offered you alternatives and possibly improved your stay here. Regarding the refund, since you booked through an agent there is a standard procedure you need to follow and we cannot authorise it as simple as that. \n\nRegards\nNondas\nShakespeare Hotel.

Hands down, the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The front desk staff Ody and the housekeeper named Berhe, who was roaming around the front desk, was extremelY rude and condescending. The WiFi was extremelY bad and slow, you can forget about having any connection.

Very well located, enthusiastic staff, good breakfast. I advise the place, but I can point out the absence of a lift and the old furniture. Nevertheless, it has its beauty on being in an historical building.

I have been to London numerous times and the Paddington area is very convenient for a direct train from Heathrow to London. As a result, I know what to expect and this place is basic. The room is tiny, which I expected; however, the hotel.

The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helped us in an emergency. It was very clean, showers were amazing, a lot of space. Beds were comfortable and there is a 24 hour reception. You can also leave your luggage before checking in and after checking.

Fine, but the sleep is average because in some rooms the street noise is very loud. There is no elevators and is very reduced the spaces between the doors to walk with the luggage. The frigobar is ok but no near water to use the tea.

We (4 adults, 2 rooms - each with 3 single beds) stayed at the Shakespeare Hotel in June 2018, during a severe heat wave. The fact that the rooms did not have air conditioning did not bother us at all, as we had rooms on.

Absolutely horrible. As son as we got here they told us we had to wait for 2 hours to get into the room, only to have to carry my luggage up 4 flights of stairs since there is no elevator. I do not recommend this.

Good spot for exploring London by foot. Nice and close to Paddington station also making life easy. Pleasant staff, decent breakfast included. Clean and neat family rooms. Only downside was as we had room overlooking square which was nice during the day; it was very.

Location and affordability are the best things about this hotel. A five minute walk from Paddington with luggage. Our room was very small, could barely walk around the bed, but you aren't in London to stay in the room. The walls are paper thin --.

One of the nicest budget hotels I've stayed at in London. You can hear/feel the tube as you can in a lot of London but that's my only criticism really. comfortable bed. Small but not tiny room (had a double with single bed). Nice clean.

Liked: Great location just one minute walk to Paddington station. I stayed here for city safari so easy access to bus and underground is perfect of rme here. And the Hyde Park is just few blocks down the road.
Disliked: I booked a single room and being allocated to the third floor. The house does not have a lift as an old building, need to carry my luggage box up by my own through the slopping stair steps, I stayed for a week here so you can imagine how hard this is. And the room was not available at official check-in time.
