We chose to stay at the Ned for two nights recently as we were joining a Roman London walking tour and the hotel was close to the starting point. We stayed in one of the “cosy”rooms which was just that. Quite small but all we needed. The bed was very comfortable. We found the lighting quite dim but then discovered just as we were leaving that the switches were dimmer switches and you had to hold them down to raise the lighting level! We found that the bar and restaurant area on the ground floor was packed and noisy most of the time, compounded by live music from a central bandstand area and loud music played through speakers in other areas. This was probably because we’re somewhat older than most of the clientele who appear to be mostly young city workers. Fortunately, as residents, we had access to the bar in the basement which is situated in the old bank vault (the hotel was once the headquarters of the Midland Bank) and well worth a visit. The vault door was apparently the inspiration for the one that starred in Goldfinger. This bar was a little quieter although still had loud piped music. We had dinner on both nights in the Lutyens Grill as this is situated in the old bank manager’s office and therefore a little more soundproofed. The food was very good. All the staff without exception were polite, efficient and helpful.

We went to The Ned Feast yesterday to celebrate my daughter's 20th birthday - Sunday Brunch. What an utterly amazing experience! The food is beautifully presented and the volume and quality of the brunch was excellent. Real value for money. I must take this opportunity to mention a truly exceptional member of staff, Jack Cohn - the General Manager, who went above and beyond to help us out after my husband had a fairly major and serious wardrobe malfunction, having bent down to pick up his umbrella! - use your imagination! Jack was totally brilliant and managed to help us out hugely and ensured that the rest of our day could to go ahead as planned. Thank you so so much Jack Cohn. Well done to The Ned for appointing such a wonderful, helpful and friendly General Manger. I would thoroughly recommend The Ned Brunch Feast for anyone wanting a very special experience! This place has the wow factor!

Unbelievable. Lobster, oysters, roast dinner, just keep going up to help yourself. I’ve never seen such a buffet and a brilliant band and dancing. A must do when in London. Not the cheapest place but worth every penny

I don’t usually do 5-stars as I spend vacation time away from my hotel but decided to splurge on The Ned and I might be spoiled for life. The “cosy” room was surprisingly well-sized, with every detail done so well (plushy sheets, a retro phone and digital radio with BBC classics playing, full-size Cowshed products for women and men). A completely happening lobby with music every night, tremendous variety of bars and restaurants, and then Ned’s Club in the lower level, which you can access as a guest. Right on top of the tube for easy access around London, quick walk to tourist or business spots. Really made our 3-day visit feel luxe and lovely.

It’s difficult to find a very good hotel in London unless there is no budget involved. Most £150/200 hotels are average, small rooms, and often hit and miss in terms of services.
Booked the Ned because I really wanted to try it having been there for drinks and food.
Booked the crash pad room for £235.
I was expecting the smallest single room in town.
Well, how wrong I was.
It’s a normal size room with top class quality bed and linen.
The attention to details is second to none.
I’m well travelled, been to several 5 stars hotel, but very rarely found this level of attention to details.
lovely Roberts radio switched on bbc3, cowshed products (I’m talking about body oil and a choice of 8 different body wash, and face toner. Etc.).
There was absolutely everything you need and everything top class.
spa is lovely, pool and sauna and changing rooms of equal quality.
Customer service unbeatable.
No need to say I won’t go anywhere else in London.

Attended a large event in the Tapestry Room. Impressive venue with professional staff attending. Champagne was refilled before it became room temperature. The passed food was always hot and delicious. Incredible high end venue in a meticulously refreshed London landmark.

Just popped in after St Paul’s Cathedral visit.
I had the Pasta Bolognaise. It tasted beautiful, one of the nicest flavoured pasta dishes I have tasted.
Excellent waiter service.
Need two hundred words so I’ll just keep typing

We had an event to go to on a Sunday evening and I had a meeting in the City Monday morning so decided to stay here.

At just gone 9.30pm when we got back to the hotel the place was buzzing. Band playing, people dancing, the bar area busy and three of the restaurants still open. It must be the only place in the City you would find life at that time on a Sunday.

I had chosen a Medium room. It was really good. Plenty of space, a very nice bathroom and a really comfortable large bed.

This is a great hotel. Excellent choice of places to eat, a nice bar/lounge area and often live music. The room was quiet and comfortable.

The cost for a Sunday night was significantly less than a weekday. I have booked again for a weekday when I have another early meeting in the City after a night in town.

Booked in advance which meant a room upgrade on arrival. The rooms, as you'd expect, are styled impeccably which made for a very pleasant one night stay. Worth Notting is the rooms have different classifications, which give you access to different facilities; fortunately for us we could access all the bars including the roof top swimming pool. Service was excellent; prices were as to be expected and not too shocking. Great as a birthday treat / celebration and would recommend to others.

Poke bowls and sashimi went down well after a tough day a work. Choose wisely and you could eat well or put it on business?

It is difficult to sit comfortably on those high benches. The ambiance is why you come to the bed. Be seen or people watch.

Having booked this for my Mums 86th birthday celebration as a group of 9 people, we were nothing but disappointed - and somewhat embarrassed.

The atmosphere and decor were lovely in the main seating area, though we were put in a side area and were not able to see the entertainment. We were not given a choice and explained to that this would be where were allocated away from the hub of things.

The Food!

Having anticipated a feast, this illusion was son shattered. The starter was good, with lobster in abundance, feast would still be a very generous description as to the selection available.

The mains were so disappointing that we all felt that the local Toby Carvery at £9 per person was superior.

My plate was given to the server for beef after a Long pushy wait, to my dismay when I sat down I noticed that I had been given somebody else's plate back - I then had to queue again. I returned to the table by which time my family were half way through their meal. The potatoes were so overcooked they were inedible as were the parsnips and sweet potatoes. The broccoli combo was cold and looked extremely sorry for itself.

Dessert, was similarly disappointing, only the dregs were left with very little choice. My partner ended up with a plate of jelly beans, I went without!

We had a late in the afternoon booking, this should not have bared any relevance to the quality of the food. If a restaurant is going to open the standard should be maintained at all times whether your reservation is late or early.

ot spend this amount of money on such a poor experience is beyond disappointing. Specially when you're paying for 9 guests!

I could only get booked for 6.15 Sunday lunch. Please don’t bother! The starters were ok but the main roast was horrible. I didn’t want to make a fuss because it was a birthday celebration I didn’t want to spoil it. The meat was terrible, the potato’s were inedible and veggies under cooked.

I was really looking forward to this visit as I have heard good thing and perhaps a 12 or 2pm booking would be better. Maybe then you would be served food that has been sitting around all day.

We were also put in a back room away from the main area which had no atmosphere. When we booked several months ago none of this was explained to us.

I did mention this at the end to the main waiter who agreed that it was probably because this was a late afternoon/evening booking but that is no excuse.

We had a magical stay this weekend for my husbands birthday and can’t wait to return. Our room was beautiful with everything thought of, including the amazing bottles of Cowshed toiletries. The rooftop bar was great for cocktails, although very much a pool party rather than a relaxing space. The pool in the Spa offers this though, which was beautiful. Plenty of choice for food, Ned’s Feast was fantastic too, highly recommend this. We finished with drinks in the Vault Bar and loved the history of the building. Service is charged at 12% on all transactions, which we couldn’t argue with as the service was immaculate. Special thanks to Diana who looked after our party of 10 for lunch.

Undeniably well-appointed and sumptuous, but your room will sound like a nightclub.

I write from a two-room suite on the seventh floor on a Saturday night, and for a second consecutive night, there is live music on the rooftop. The panes in the master windows are quite literally rattling in their mullions.

The lobby and rooftop are quite a draw for young professionals in the area who descend upon the rope line entry for drinks after work. It is clearly the place to see and to be seen. I am sure the property makes far more money from the party crowd than it does from paying guests, in spite of the five-star nightly rate. Yes, the crowd really is that enormous.

The staff seemed completely oblivious to the issue, and I invited the night manager to step off the elevator on the seventh floor at his leisure. The noise is pervasive and inescapable from the moment the lift doors open.

The Ned needs to decide whether they are going to be a nightclub with rooms or a hotel where guests can relax and renew. It can't succeed at both simultaneously, try as it might. I wish we had known before we booked our travel from the States. Be warned if you're considering a stay spanning a weekend, particularly if you are travelling with young children, as we are.

Me and my friends went to visit The Ned, because we were disappointed from the previous place we had been. We went to Cecconi's at the bar area to have some drinks, and Hristomir was amazing. The only thing which disappointed was the strong noise which came from the band, which was playing at the scene. Overall great expirience, and I will highly recommend Cecconi's!

Medium room, booked direct - not cheap.

Room was not’t huge but nicely decorated with some good touches such as the retro kettle and tea set. Bed was king and comfortable. Service was fine at check in / out.

But fundamentally a hotel is to sleep in - that is the A1 top priority. But the noise coming up from the ground floor into the rooms until about midnight was simply too much to permit sleep. Not noise exactly but a penetrating bass thud. And this was on a Monday night.

A pity as I was looking for a London base as I will be in London a fair bit over the next few years. But I don’t think it is going to be the Ned.

You feel like you have walked back in time the moment that you walk into The Ned. The rooms are elegant room top to bottom. From turn down service, heated tile bathroom floor to all the amenities that they provide to their guests, I will always stay here. The tube (underground) entrance is steps from the hotel but admit that I spent a decadent day never leaving the hotel- spa, restaurants and evening live music.

Hint: We booked a medium room which granted us access to the spa and gym but I recommend that you book a larger room and book directly thru the company website so that you can have access to the exclusive rooftop pool and dining.

Very disappointed with meal received. I selected fish and chips without mushy peas. When presented the fish was over cooked and mushy. The peas had been put on the plate although had requested for them to be omitted. They were ‘hidden’ under the fish. This may be how this dish is normally presented but why would you want to ‘hide’ an element! Chips were ok. Certainly not the standard I expect to come out of a kitchen in a 5 star hotel and have visited many. Service was ok but slow and the noise was deafening. I definitely would not return and have already recommended to others not to either. There are far better establishments and to be honest I have had much better quality meals in a chain restaurants.

Not that much more expensive than a chain hotel such as Premier Inn or Travel Lodge, and so much more. On a value for money scale the quality of the bed (Hypnos mattress) and the standard of linens, with “cowshed” bathroom products. Very much worth the extra cash.

After work drinks with friends barred by ridiculous system of table booking. We were a walk-in as don't take reservations if not eating and had a (v expensive though nice) bottle of wine. Told we could only have table for 1/2 hour as was booked. We drank up and went to the cloakroom. On way back saw at least 6 empty tables.

We went to the deli to the rear where the staff were really lovely and the food was great. Flat grill chicken and mac n cheese to die for. Oh and the drinks were about a third cheaper

When we left we noticed lots of empty tables in our original location but people standing around.

Whilst the Ned is buzzy, with live music and eclectic crowd, think it tries too hard to be cool. Don't think we will rush back.
