Pictures from Holland Park. The park first opened in 1952 on the
site of the grounds of Holland House and covers 54 acres. Holland House is located at the south end
of the park and is named after a former owner in Sir Henry, Earl of Holland.
Holland Park is made up of several seemingly individual sections which include
the Kyoto Japanese Garden, laid out for the 1991 London Festival of Japan. The
park is rich in wildlife thanks in part to the wildlife reserve (one of thirteen
areas enclosed for wildlife) at the Northern end and the peacock Lawn where
Peacocks can often be seen in spring and early summer. Holland Park is a
child/family friendly park featuring refreshment areas, pay areas, sports areas,
open air theatre, ecology centre and it even has its own police station. The
park is open 7.30 am till 9.00 pm. see>>All London Photos >>>Hotels near Holland Park |
