The Stansted Lodge Elsenham is a converted terraced house with just 9 bedrooms. The hotels offers parking onsite and free wireless internet access throughout. Only 2 miles (3.4 km) to the north of Stansted Airport.Bedrooms have a traditional style. Please note that of the 9 bedrooms 2 have shared bathroom facilities, the other 4 have private bathrooms. These are clear described as such when you check the room rates. Guest rooms all come with a free WiFi, safety deposit box, ironing facilities, heating, hairdryer, flatscreen TV, tea/coffee maker, microwave, electric kettle and alarm clock. The microwave gives you more options for heating/cooking your own food.

Once known as the place where the worlds most expensive jam was made but jam is no longer made here. 3.1 miles (5.0 km) from the M11 motorway at junction 8 (around 10 minutes by car). The nearest train station is Elsenham (0.5 miles, 0.8 km) which has direct services into London Liverpool Street in under 1 hour and run around every hour. Trains also run direct to Cambridge in around 30 minutes. You can walk to the station in about 15 minutes. The Stansted Lodge is only 2.1 miles (3.4 km) from Stansted Airport (about 10 minutes by road). There is a pub (serves food), a grocery store and a take away restaurant close to the hotel, all within 400 yards (365 metres).
Name Check: Watch out when travelling to this hotel, or indeed booking. There are two sisters hotels both run by the same people and both within streets of each other. They are The Avalon (this hotel) and The Aspen. Both are run by Stansted Lodge.
Even more confusingly there is a separate similarly named hotel in Tackeley called the Stansted Airport Lodge, the airport in the title is the thing to watch out for.
Transfer Information: The Village Link 7 (VL7) bus runs between Stansted Airport and the Crown pub which is 440 yards (400 metres) from the hotel. The bus costs There is a small charge for the shuttle service and normally runs 06.49 am to 18.49 pm everyday except Sunday.
The hotel itself arranges transfers to the airport using a local taxi company. The cost varies according to how many people are sharing the taxi. Transfers from the airport to the hotel must be arranged by the guests themselves.
