M25
The M25 is the orbital motorway that encompasses the whole of greater
London. In fact in practical terms the M25 now determines the areas
considered to be within London by being a man border around it.
Luton Airport is located just over 13 miles from the M25, an almost
straight run along the M1.
Stansted Airport, Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport are also located very close to the M25
motorway which means travel by road to each of these airports is most
practically travelled via the M25 even though the distances are far
greater than travelling in a straight line.
Please note that the M25 motorway is notorious for traffic delays and so all journey times
shown on this page are a guide only.
Bus and Coaches
Luton Airport has a coach and bus station opposite the terminal with
individual bays for the various local and UK linked routes. These
include at bay 1- A the Luton Airport Parkway Station Shuttle bus that
runs between the nearest station and the airport. The shuttle route
takes 10 minutes.
Bus and Coach operators from Luton include Arriva, National Express and
Easybus.

Minicab
A minicab is a private vehicle that can only be hired by being pre-booked.
You can contact our partner
minicab company here. Minicabs are nearly always cheaper than London
taxis for medium to long journeys.
As a general guide expect to pay around £50 into central London from
Luton for up to 4 passengers. Charge varies between companies and does
not include extra waiting time or larger than standard vehicles.
Train
There isn't actually a train station at Luton Airport. The
nearest station is Luton Airport Parkway which is just under 1 mile from
the airport. A shuttle bus service runs between the airport and the
station to allow passengers to easily connect between the two in a
seamless fashion. Expect the ride to take 5-10 minutes. The bus stops at
Bay 1 outside the terminal building.
Train operators include First Capital Connect and Midland.

Railair
Railair is really the generic term used to describe bus and coach
services linking airports to the national railway network
stations and not a single company as the name may imply. Rail
Interchange stations are those that have joint rail and bus linked
routes.
Virgin Trains operate a rail-airport-train link between Milton Keynes
Station and London Luton Airport. This is a service that runs hourly
from early till late seven day a week. The coaches are times to
synchronise with the train timetable and tickets include both the train
and the coach ride. Virgin use bays 7 and 8 at the Luton coach terminus.
