The Doubletree By Hilton London Greenwich Hotel sits close to the starting point of the London marathon which is half a mile from the hotel at Greenwich and Blackheath Park. The area is in south London and just opposite the Docklands/canary Wharf district. However to access the Docklands you will need to use of the connecting bridges or tunnels. In this case either Rotherhithe or Blackwell tunnel if travelling by road. The two areas are also linked by the DLR (Docklands Light railway) with Deptford Bridge DLR being just a few minutes walk from the hotel (a 10 minute ride gets you to Greenwich railway station). Greenwich has a long maritime tradition and is home to both the National Maritime Museum and the Cutty Sark replica (15 minutes walk). Of course Greenwich is also synonymous with world standard time as its marks the point of the zero longitude line form which all world clocks take their time.
