Hotel in Detail:
Palace Place, the street on which The Residenty Victoria sits, dates right back to the 17th century. The hotel with its address of number 10 was once part of number 11 which is the World Bureau for Girl Guides. The Resident brand was brought about to deliver high end affordable 4 star boutique hotels where pricing was totally transparent with the price on check–in being the rate you pay on check–out, losing the nightmare of hidden extras often seen in this type of hotel. This is partly achieved by not including facilities many guests rarely use such as restaurant, bar and gym and by not trying to up-sell services. Funds saved in not providing these facilities are then spent on the bedrooms to provide extra facilities and upgraded furnishings including original artworks. The Resident Victoria is something of an oasis from the busy bustling areas surrounding it.Although there is no onsite restaurant the hotel can order takeaways from local restaurants and no extra is added to the price by the hotel. There is also an on–screen directory in each room listing local services and amenities.
Bedrooms are designed to provide a home away from home with in–house bespoke tea and coffee blend (including fair trade), mini–kitchen (with microwave, fridge), free WiFi (Ethernet option), large flatscreen TV (with HDMI connection and music library), pocket sprung beds, laptop size safe, under bed luggage storage, individually controlled heating and cooling, iron and ironing board, USB charging, direct dial phone, water filter tap, Nespresso coffee machine and a desk. The bathrooms come with a power shower, shaving mirror, Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and a hairdryer. Some bathrooms have a bath or wet room.
In-room mini kitchen: All rooms feature Mini Kitchen complete with fridge, microwave, sink with BRITA filter tap, kettle, crockery, cutlery, glassware, Nespresso coffee machine and complimentary Nespresso capsules and Fairtrade teas. It gives you the freedom and flexibility to store and prepare your own food, and make a tea or coffee whenever you wish.
