Hotel in Detail:The Ampersand Hotel is boutique style hotel housed in a traditional style hotel in a Victorian building.
All rooms en-suite and are designed around one of 5 different themes which reflect the surrounding area of South Kensington. Depending on your room choice, the references will be there, from the pattern and texture of the V&A's costume collection, to the Science Museum's planets and phials, from the Natural History Museum's ornithological drawings to the drama and ceremony of the Royal Albert Hall. These strands are woven throughout the hotel, so that flowers and ferns adorn upholstery, goose feathers accent staircases and drinks are displayed like the potions in a pharmacy.
All rooms have 24 hour room service, flat screen television with on demand films, free WiFi, media hub, minibar, laptop sized safe and air-conditioning. Beds feature an oversized velvet bedhead.
Double Rooms: Inspired by astronomy. The bathrooms have a walk-in shower or bath/shower combo.
Superior Rooms: Inspired by music, more spacious than double rooms and come with a double, king-size or twin beds. They also allow for a more generous workspace. Toiletries by London perfumer, Miller Harris.

Suites: Located on the fourth and fifth floor with a geometry theme. Come with floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony. They also have a kitchenette with a microwave oven, separate sitting room, freestanding bath and walk-in shower or a bath/shower combination. All the bathrooms in the Kensington suites have built-in TVs.
Apero Restaurant: Intimate Mediterranean style restaurant. Softly lit, with cool white metro tiles and exposed brick walls. Includes an integrated bar with an understated feel serving signature cocktails or glass of wine. Leather banquettes in the snug are suitable for up to six people and can be curtained off by drapes.
Breakfast: 6:30 to 10.00 (weekends 7.00 till 11.00). Serves lunch and dinner.
The Drawing Rooms: Classic British tradition comes to the Ampersand with the hotels drawing room. Luxuriously styled the drawing room serves afternoon tea and mid-morning coffee freshly brewed in the hotels own Victorian coffee press. Furnished with deep sofas and studded armchairs, scarlet velvets, and kingfisher blues. Enjoy Lunch and early evening bites such as tartlet's, edible cocktails and tasting plates. Champagne is served from the vintage drinks cabinet.
