Melia London Kensington is formed from a row of Victorian 5-storey town houses first built 1854. Now a modern boutique style hotel on the doorstep to central London and just 75 metres from Gloucester Road tube station which is on the same Piccadilly line as Heathrow Airport. Guests will be glad to know that the hotel is fully air-conditioned and WiFi can picked up throughout the hotel.

As standard all bedrooms come with individually controllable air-conditioning and the Melia Dream Beds. Amenities available to all guests include a safe to protect your valuables, flat screen television with digital channels and on demand movies, IDD phone, desk, tea and coffee making facilities, steam iron, ironing board and minbar (not in single rooms). History:

Became the Melia London Kensington in 2019.
Was called the Rydges Kensington Plaza till 2012 when the Plaza part of the name was dropped after refurbishment.
Originally built by William Blake, a brick layer. The main rooms for the families were located on the 1st floor where they had afternoon tea and painted in the high ceiling rooms with large windows. The stair cases were invariably of stone decorated with iron balusters. Service rooms were confined to the basement, accessed from the street by stone steps for housekeepers and butlers.
