Find a Travelodge in London
After opening their first hotel in 1985 (first London hotel was January 1988) the brand has gone from strength to
strength. Formerly a
forte hotels
sub-brand. The trademark is UK specific and is not connected with similarly
names international brands. In April 2006 the entire Travelodge brand was
purchased by
Dubai International Capital for $1.3 billion.
Hit the headlines in summer 2014 after removing the traditional bible
usually found in UK hotel bedrooms.
In April 2009 plans were announced to construct 120 hotels with London over the
coming years with at least one each London borough by 2020. On April 24 2009 the
chain broke the record for most room sales on one day when recording 87079 room
sales. Became the largest London hotel chain in 2011 with the opening of the
Travelodge Ealing giving it 5714 bedrooms in London.
Almost every hotel listed has rooms that will accommodate 3 adults and 1 child
or 2 adults and 2 children.
Twin rooms? Travelodge have standard double rooms so its not possible to search
for a twin. However there is normally a sofa bed in these rooms which becomes
the twin option.
Note the brand is often wrongly referred to as travel lodge, when its actually
one word. This could be a throwback to when the brand was called Premier Lodge.
