This means you need to cross via one of the bridges to reach the main tourist areas around the West End and W1 postcode. You can actually walk to the West End in around 35 minutes via any of the appropriate bridges. The Westminster Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars Bridges are all within half a mile. Even closer is the major railway terminus of Waterloo Station at 1/3rd of a mile where a tube into the City of London can take just 5 minutes. There is a lot to see and do within the surrounding area with plenty of bars and restaurants including a fish and chip shop opposite the Travelodge. The Imperial War Museum is just 1/4 of a mile to the south west of the Travelodge Waterloo while the South Bank is just 0.5 miles to the north. Along the South Bank which runs alongside the river Thames are places such as the Royal festival Hall, Hayward Gallery and the National Gallery.
