Introduction: Sitting on the busy Brentford High Street
is the budget hotel, Premier Inn London Kew. Somewhat of a misleading name since
it is actually within Brentford although just half a mile from Kew Bridge and
Kew Green. This location is particularly useful as a middle ground between
Heathrow Airport or the M4
motorway (for its links to the M25 and west of England) and central London. The
airport can be reached in just 20 minutes. Central London and the main tourist
areas is some 6.5 miles to the east. Brentford Station is around a 10 minute
walk with links to Clapham Junction, Vauxhall and Waterloo stations. The bus
stop opposite the hotel provides a route (no. 65) to South Ealing tube station
which is on the Piccadilly Line and runs into central London. There are several
restaurants (including a McDonalds) within walking to the hotel. Less than 2
miles away is Chiswick, which offers an extensive range of shops, bras,
restaurants and amenities. The nearest major attraction is
Kew Gardens (the Royal Botanic Gardens) at half a mile and about 25 minutes
walk. just over the Kew Bridge, with its 40,000 plus range of plants. Other
local places of interest include the Musical Museum (0.2 miles), Kew Bridge
Steam Museum (0.5 miles), National Archives (0.9 miles), Gunnersbury Park and
Museum (1.1 miles), Syon House and Park (1.2 miles) and Ealing Studios (1.8
miles).
