They are all popular hotels and offer value for money accommodation against backdrop of far more expensive options within this area. Don't mistake the City of London as being the same as London itself, they are not. Confusingly the City of London (also referred to as the Square Mile) is to the east of central London and is the main business district. The tourist heart of London centres around Piccadilly Circus and is some 2 miles to the east. Easily reachable though since you are close to bus routes and tube stops. However if its not amazing nightlife and high end shopping you are after then there are plenty of places of interest close to the hotel. The monument which is a Roman Doric column in remembrance of the great fire of London in 1666 is on your doorstep or 150 yards away to be precise. Then you have the Royal Armouries and fusiliers Museum (0.2 miles) and Royal Exchange Shopping centre (0.3 miles). The Barbican arts complex is within 1 mile. The hotel also benefits from having shops, restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity and Monument tube station is only 2 minutes walk away (connects to District and Circle lines, Northern line, Waterloo and City line, Central line, Docklands Light Railway), Tower Gateway on the DLR line is 10 minutes walk. Your only 200 yards from The River Thames which is a real working river with a river bus service and dedicated walking areas along its banks. Tower Pier is the nearest river bus stop and is 5 minutes walk from the Premier Inn.
