First opened in May 2015. The hotel is named after architect Batty Langley (1696 - 1751) who published handbooks which were home improvement guides for the Georgian era. Today Batty Langley's is a sumptuous luxury hotel paying homage to its Georgian past with a friendly ambience. You will get a sense of the hotels long history once you are on Folgate Street as it still has the old fashioned cobble stones yet surrounded by the most modern of buildings such as the famous Gherkin tower block. The public area features a real fireplace.Guests are calling this a mini Downton Abbey which is a popular British TV period drama about an opulent period residence.
Bedrooms are all named after famous London characters and do not have numbers.
While all rooms are unique they share certain facilities such as air–conditioning and they all have complimentary Wi–Fi, flat screen television with Apple media hub, mini bar, safe and top brand toiletries. Bedrooms are furnished with a 17th Century carved oak bed or a Georgian four poster, antique furniture and period pictures. Windows are hung with heavy silk curtains or wooden shutters. The bathroom has restored Vintage plumbing fixtures and fittings, with either a cast iron roll–top bath or a period style shower, bathrobes and slippers on hand.
