Hotel in Detail:
First opened in July 2014. The St Pauls Hotel Hammersmith is housed in a striking Grade II listed red building previously called Highmasters House. The design is known as a Gothic Revival style and was the creation of Alfred Waterhouse, the same architect that built the Natural History Museum. The building has a long history dating back to 1893 and has in the past been used as offices and as part of St Pauls School and as the setting for the 1971 cult film Melody . Its place in history is firmly nailed as having been the meeting place between General Eisenhower, General Montgomery and Prime Minister Winston Churchill for the planning of the D Day landings in Normandy in 1944 during World War II.The hotel construction added a two storey side extension.
