While there are train options for this journey that can be quicker and at around
the same price, only the National Express route between Stansted and Gatwick
offers a non-stop service. You are however taking the longest stretch of the M25
motorway between any of the London airports, which brings inherent problems of
time predictability. The run is 108 miles airport to airport and during the
morning and evening rush hours delays become inevitable. The reason for such a
long journey is that the coaches between the airports go via Heathrow, which
adds some 40 miles than the shortest journey between the 2 airports of Gatwick
and Stansted.
However if you go by the national Express timetable normal delays are taken into
account in the published depart and arrival times.
National Express from Stansted Airport
There is only one
terminal at Stansted (an award winning one at that) and the coach pickup is from
the coach station right outside the main terminal building. There are
refreshment amenities here in the event that you have a longish wait for your
bus. For Gatwick coaches
leave from bay 21. Coaches will drop at Gatwick north before the south terminal,
so add 10 minutes if your going to the south terminal. At Gatwick the drop-off
points are in front of the terminal building.
coaches covering this route:

National Express from Gatwick Airport
From Gatwick Airport you just follow the signs for the coach pickup area which
are in front of the terminals. All you need to do is read the signs telling you

add those 10 minutes to the below for north terminal.
